You know the scene in My Best Friend's Wedding when the dude pretending to be with Julia Roberts breaks into song while smack in the middle of a speech, and as Hollywood would have it, the whole table joins in? The peeps below made the scene a little less Hollywood and a little more Broadway. They had a fantastic performance, but I wanna know how everyone in attendance at this wedding (even the father of the groom!) had a voice fit for singing. Uh, Twilight Zone much? The Food Court Musical

Improv Everywhere is known for busting out comedic performances in unlikely locations, so they staged a musical - in a shopping mall food court. It all started with the Hot Dog on a Stick girl crying over spilled lemonade and ended with the whole food court triumphantly singing about napkin shortage. Hungry patrons, clueless that the joke was on them, didn't know whether to laugh or cry. If you ask me, all they had to do was buy a corn dog from the crying chick and tell her to shove it. But that would have made this a lot less funny.

One glimpse at the top-25 tracks in your iTunes can tell a lot about you. A 2006 study revealed music is the most popular topic of conversation in the first six weeks of platonic and romantic relationships, surpassing books, movies, TV, football, and clothes.

Introversion and extroversion are perhaps the two characteristics that most affect what music people tune into. Though both temperaments will roll - or rock - with their moods and activities, extroverts are more likely to reach for upbeat music that's heavy on vocals while introverts gravitate towards slower tunes with complex movements.

One surprise is that there's no connection between the abrasive lyrics common in rap and heavy metal and aggressive or sexual behavior. Listeners of heavy metal, particularly, have shown to be sensitive and gentle souls. In fact, they have a lot in common with classical music lovers. They're both creative, easy-going, and introverted.

Music and Sex?

There's something to be said about setting the mood when you're about to get busy with your boyfriend. Some people like candles, others like bubble baths, and a lot of people like setting the scene with music in the background.

I actually prefer no music whatsoever, but if it's quiet enough and has no words, then I'm cool with it. What about you? Do you like music playing while you're getting it on? If so, what kind? Sweet, gentle background melodies? Loud rock n' roll? Erotic, sexual music? Or do you not really care?

The 50 Sexiest Music Videos of All Time

When I saw that Nerve.com put together a list of the 50 sexiest music videos of all time, my first thought was: Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" better be on there! Isaak's tribute to steamy beach lovin' indeed made the list, as did many other old standbys, including "Justify My Love" by Madonna and "Cryin'" by Aerosmith.

The list also features other sexy vids I'd totally forgotten about. Anyone else remember sneaking off to watch Billy Idol's "Cradle of Love" as a kid? And don't even get me started on D'Angelo's "How Does It Feel"! There are also a handful of obscure picks I've never seen before.

A Creepy Yet Insanely Catchy Homage to Christian Bale

Just when you thought we were finished with the Christian Bale freakout comes this genius music video for The Mae Shi's "R U Professional." The catchy dance number pays homage to the "swing kid with a violent streak" with excerpts from Bale's famous onset explosion and lyrics like "newsies will get you tonight!" The video features clips from his movies - including Bale eating a live snake and running naked with a chain saw - that kinda help you understand how the dude got so extreme.

Flashback: Steve Guttenberg in Can't Stop the Music

If Steve Guttenberg can't stop the music, it must truly be unstoppable. In possibly the best cinematic masterpiece I've stumbled upon since the film based on Charlie Sheen's poetry, Can't Stop the Music is the pseudo-autobiographical rags to riches tale of the Village People, starring the real-life band members and Guttenberg as Jack.

According to the plot description at SteveGuttenberg.com:

Samantha, a former model, comes to the aid of her roommate Jack, an aspiring songwriter who's vowed to stay celibate until he achieves musical success. Samantha invites a group of arty friends from Greenwich Village to a party - an Indian chief, a construction worker, a cowboy, a policeman, a soldier, and a couple of leather boys! Then, they all get together and stage such a wild, campy, "dance feverish" show using Jack's songs, that his career skyrockets!

Now doesn't that sound like fun? If only we could all have an Indian chief among our "arty friends." They aren't kidding with that tagline: "Like nothing you've ever seen before!" Have any of you seen this masterpiece?

High School Nude-ical - Hardcore Screw-Up

Parents and their kids in a South Jordan, UT, theater got an eye-full when an R-rated movie called Sex Drive came on instead of High School Musical 3. It appears that managers at the theater made a last-minute decision to move HSM3 to a bigger theater but forgot to switch the movies. Ruh roh. (I guess that's one way to bypass the hard and fast rule - no pun intended - of boycotting sex-themed flicks in Utah.) Click here to read more.
