I'm telling you, cats are uniting to throw us all off. They will not be hemmed into vicious stereotypes of the "cats hate water, fetching, and mice" variety. Take this lady cat and boy mouse couple. Like celebrity exes who remain together for the cameras, this couple is playing lovey-dovey. Well, the cat is anyway. She's all, "Who told you I don't like mice. See? I loooove him." Mouser, however, looks skeptical and like he's about to bolt.

A few months ago, Japanese scientists unveiled genetically modified "mutant mice" who had lost their innate fear of cats. Usually, they freak out when they see one; these mellow mice, however, just tip their hats and say "How do you do?" In an old Japanese news video of Jerry on Tom love (featuring what looks like a hamster), there was just talk in the background. We thought it needed a romantic soundtrack. . .

Dead Mouse in Hot Dog Bun or Hardened Dough? You Decide!

Just in time for lunch! I'm often straining my brain to find ways of squeezing the funny out of everyday things. But this news story about a possible dead mouse baked into a hot dog bun kinda writes itself, especially when a "Master Baker" (say that 10 times fast) is quoted as saying that what looks like a dead mouse is in fact hardened dough or "pan accumulation." And then another person says in response, "Everyone thinks this is a mouse, but you." I guess we'll all have to wait on pins and needles for the lab results.

Dear Sugar
Ok, so this is kind of complicated. I was talking with this guy Ryan and really liked him. I hung out with all his friends and I got to know all of them. The thing is, Ryan is pretty much a ''womanizer'' as his friends would say and he doesn't always treat girls the best. We don't live very close and I heard that he was with different girls all the time, which is fine I guess because we aren't together. So in the past month we have kind of been distant with each other and his friend Jake started pursuing me and really liking me. He's a REALLY sweet guy, and it wouldn't be wrong if we ever did end up getting together because me and Ryan had nothing serious going on. But now Ryan is kind of coming back to me, calling me and everything now that me and Jake have this little thing going on..and I don't know why but being the girl that I am, I really have way more feelings for Ryan than Jake. I know it would be stupid to go back and try things again with Ryan but it's so hard. I don't know what to do. Any Advice? One Confused Cat

Ryan is textbook. He wants what he wants WHEN he wants it. Now that you fancy someone else, he's coming back around. Kitty -- talk about a game of cat and mouse! I understand why you like him; you had feelings for him first but guys like Ryan are a dime a dozen. Consider yourself warned. If his friends call him a womanizer, g-d only knows how bad he really is. If you play with fire -- you're going to get burned. Try things with Jake. Your instincts tell you that he's really sweet so go for the nice guy and protect your heart.

Britney Spears Back-to-School Gear: Love It or Leave It?

It's back-to-school with Britney, b*tch!

Britney Spears's official website features bangles, laundry bags, and now, back-to-school products like a Top hat B-logo mouse pad for $10, a $30 laptop sleeve, and a $10 Britney-in-her-makeup chair on the Circus tour notebook. None of these items makes me want to hit the books - but I wouldn't mind watching Tim and Camillo dance to "Circus" again!

The products are described as if they're targeted to students and office workers ("it's perfect for school, the office"), but one wonders if anyone over 21 would really be interested in Britney Spears products, except for their camp/kitsch value? What about you?
