Celebrities are no different than us common folk; they make mistakes, too. It's just that their mistakes are seen and heard around the world. While it's easy for us to simply apologize to the people we've hurt, celebrities have to make amends much more publicly.

President-elect Barack Obama has topped Barbara Walters's list of the Most Fascinating People of 2008. The ABC special aired last night, and last year the honor of Most Fascinating Person went to Harry Potter author JK Rowling. While many people probably agree that Obama is the most fascinating figure of the year, it's somewhat surprising that his opponent John McCain did not make the list.

Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Hilary Duff. That's how you know them, but to the scientists at Disney's Genetic Engineering Lab where child stars are produced, they're referred to as 6831-A, B, and C. You see, at the Disney lab, their brains were engineered for dancing and singing and their looks tweaked from the same genetic structure.

Experts conclude that unless something is done to curb our consumption of the juggernaut known as Miley Cyrus, Inc., she will go the way of the Lindsay Lohans and Olsen twins of today. All of those entities, says a noted entertainment scientist, "were bountiful entertainment resources that our overconsumption reduced to smoldering remnants." He continues ominously, "We are burning through Miley at a far more aggressive rate."

Miley Cyrus isn't having the best week. Her topless photo-shoot scandal has caused quite a stir but this picture in her Vanity Fair spread isn't the only one that has me raising my eyebrows. Is it just me or is this photo a little off-putting?

So I looked it up in the dictionary and found a variety of definitions. I discovered that the word "diva" is derived from the Italian word for a female deity, or goddess.
