I'm telling you, cats are uniting to throw us all off. They will not be hemmed into vicious stereotypes of the "cats hate water, fetching, and mice" variety. Take this lady cat and boy mouse couple. Like celebrity exes who remain together for the cameras, this couple is playing lovey-dovey. Well, the cat is anyway. She's all, "Who told you I don't like mice. See? I loooove him." Mouser, however, looks skeptical and like he's about to bolt.

Extreme Pete, the hot rod dog, has some pint-sized competition on the water. They call themselves the Radical Rodents and I'll admit, they are pretty rad. Too bad my mouse traps are even radder. Joke.

To Touch Or Not To Touch...

Maury Povich put pickle and peach phobias on the map, but a radio show decided to put small vermin phobias (which are quite legitimate, if you ask me) to the test. I haven't a clue why this woman agreed to endure such a scare tactic...but "quiet as a mouse" certainly wasn't her coping style. Too bad the radio listeners missed out on the visual of her literally climbing the walls in terror.

A few months ago, Japanese scientists unveiled genetically modified "mutant mice" who had lost their innate fear of cats. Usually, they freak out when they see one; these mellow mice, however, just tip their hats and say "How do you do?" In an old Japanese news video of Jerry on Tom love (featuring what looks like a hamster), there was just talk in the background. We thought it needed a romantic soundtrack. . .

Stranger Than Fiction: Spider Venom For Erectile Dysfunction

How desperate are some men to cure their erectile dysfunction, otherwise known as impotence? They might be desperate enough to use spider venom - as a drug ingredient, of course.

Researchers in Brazil are looking closely at the Brazilian wandering spider. Its bites are extremely painful and can cause priapism, which is basically a painful erection that could last for hours. (I'm wondering who the poor research subject was who led them to this conclusion!) The researchers purified the toxin, tested it in rats and mice, and found that it causes a chemical reaction that helps blood flow in penile tissue.

Since erectile dysfunction is the result of an inadequate supply of blood flow in the penis, the venom is a promising treatment for the condition. See, people? Although many of you are afraid of them, spiders can be your friends!

This little kitten is just having a grand ol' time on Caturday. What more could she want? She's got her cat tower with mice dangling from it, and the all-important empty box of tissue paper. Frolicking never looked so fun! I think I shall call her Box Cat Junior (named after you-know-who).

I'm not usually a fan of Look Who's Talking style voiceovers (for babies, animals, etc.) But Wilber (why not Wilbur?) here with his reality television show is so cute I will make an exception. Watch as ol' Wil naps, sits upright, chases mice, and reminisces about his long-lost love Daffodil. I couldn't tear myself away!

5 Sex Lessons From the Animal Kingdom

A recent study shows that deer mice are monogamous and have "superior stress tolerance and blood sugar regulation." That would make us think that for humans, a monogamous relationship would prove to offer health benefits, but what else can we learn from the animal kingdom? Here are the first five of 10 sex lessons from a recent MSNBC article and my interpretation of each one. I'll warn you, some of these are a little out there, but enjoy!

Do not turn sex into warfare: If you nag your guy and pressure him into having intimacy, it'll drive him away and you both could end up unhappy.
Avoid weaponizing your penis: If a guy pierces his business or does anything else that may make sex painful to a woman, she won't want to engage in the act with him.

Try woman on top: Guys like to be on top so they can be in control of the speed and depth of intercourse. If the woman is on top though, there's a better chance sex will last longer, so she's more likely to have an orgasm. If she has an orgasm, the guy will end up feeling very proud and confident that he can please his lady. This in turn will translate to having sex more often. Win-win.
For a great afterglow, choose an orgy: I don't know about this one. Rats have been known to mate in groups and switch partners in the middle of copulation. While free love sounds fun, given today's rates of STIs, this just doesn't seem safe.
Gifts don’t always work: If you're having issues in the intimacy department, a dozen roses from the guy won't necessarily solve a sexual conflict.
