Although re-cut to look like a romantic comedy, the movie was originally written to be a psychological thriller depicting the transforming power of love- that is, Harry became stalker-style scary and that tableside orgasm she famously faked was a big SOS...but, in the end, all the world did was LOL.

Like many of you, I saw The Women this weekend. While I was pretty disappointed with the movie overall, the film did bring up some interesting topics. Without giving too much away, all the characters come together to support Mary, played by Meg Ryan, whose high profile husband of 13 years cheats on her.

Sometimes sex can be hard work and sometimes you're just too tired to put forth the effort. If you're more interested in having a short love-making session so you can get to dreaming, one option is to fake it. Some women have no qualms about pulling a Meg Ryan, especially if they're in a new relationship, but other women wouldn't dare fake a good time, namely because they wouldn't be able to make it seem believable.

It's a sad fact that it can take a woman much longer to climax during sex than it can for a man. If we're not that into it from the start, 30 minutes can go by and we're not even close to orgasm. The guy can try every trick he's got to get you excited, but sometimes, it's just not gonna happen.

I love the scene in When a Man Loves a Woman where Andy Garcia is spinning Meg Ryan around in the infinity pool at that gorgeous resort in Mexico, ignoring of course that they are having a heart to heart about her alcoholism! I can almost feel their connection in that moment, the music was perfect, the location, the lighting, the colors, and everything about that specific scene was so real to me.
