I guess we know we'll never see Madonna in a wedding dress again, unless she's performing "Like a Virgin." Last night, the Material Girl also described her eight-year marriage to Guy Ritchie as the "Bush years." Have you ever felt lucky to be out of a relationship?

Where Do You Stand? Spending the Holidays Together For the Sake of the Kids?

In the midst of all the scandal and rumors surrounding the Madonna and Guy Ritchie split, new reports say that they will be spending Christmas together, for the sake of their kids that is. While I think the idea is nice, I'm not sure faking it, if you will, is necessarily a good idea. Obviously different things work for different families, but ladies, where do you stand on the notion of spending the holidays together for the sake of the kids when the parents are clearly in an unhappy, volatile relationship?

Madonna's Fans Don't Know Her Lyrics!

Poor Madonna. I know some of her hugest fans, but apparently they didn't show up to this concert. It appears something is wrong with her mic, and then, when she tries to get them to engage in the ol' "finish my singing for me so you, too, can feel a part of this concert," they go blank. What self-respecting Madonna fan doesn't know the lyrics to "Dress You Up in My Love"?! But they can sing "oo-ah oo-ah!" Naturally.

Whenever I see talk shows or read interviews with celebrities, I constantly hear them say that they feel better with age. Oprah has said on numerous occasions that she really came into herself at age 50, and the younger generation strongly suggests that 30 is when you have the confidence to be the real you. Sure, the older I get the more secure I feel, but who likes getting old?

Demi Moore proves that age shouldn't get you down, as do Madonna, Michelle Pfeiffer, and we can't leave out George Clooney! So ladies, what I want to know is, do you feel like you get better with age?

In her video for "Express Yourself," Madonna created a complicated vision of female sexuality. "Express Yourself" is a song about love, but it's also a song about female empowerment, about not letting love make you stupid. Madonna shows up in a variety of guises: she's conventionally feminine in a charmeuse gown; she's in an androgynous power suit; she's chained and naked; she's in charge of a crew of naked slaves. You can be sexual, the fantasy images seem to say, without simply being reduced to an object, but all the same, love can enslave you if you let it. Unlike a lot of musical starlets these days whose images are totally created for them, Madonna was and is interested in culture and had a hand in incorporating art and film references in this video.
