Move over Kristen Stewart! Barbie is the latest impersonator to pay homage to rock and roll icon Joan Jett.

Regular Barbie - and those anatomically-impossible small feet she jams into high heels - must be jealous that Mattel's new Joan Jett Barbie gets to sport some rad red Converse. If Joan Jett isn't your thing, you can also pick up the Cyndi Lauper doll, the Debbie Harry doll, or the Barbara Streisand doll. They're all part of Mattel's new "Ladies of the '80s" collection, which ensures that grown women may once again unwrap a Barbie this holiday season.

Are you digging these dolls or does the fact that they're Barbies diminish the girl power cred?

I envy guys for being able to pee anywhere - especially when I'm camping or attending an outdoor festival or something. But what stops me is the whole drip-drying issue, not the lack of a special tool, which is why I find the GoGirl feminine urination device ($7) a tad puzzling. This silicone funnel comes in a cute tube and creates a watertight seal so you can "go anywhere" with no mess or fuss. The tagline: "don't take life sitting down." Do you think this is empowering or just plain silly?

Models Strip Against Climate Change - Love It or Leave It?

A few days ago, an International Day of Climate Action was put on by the global campaign 350.org. Figuring the public is more likely to pay attention to practically naked models than Al Gore (naked or not), the group put together a video of smiling models taking off their clothes because global warming makes them too hot. I'm already skeptical of naked activism, but I think this video is trying to appeal to people who like barely-clothed models. I think they might want to rethink their angle - if global warming causes beautiful people to strip, won't some people think that's a good thing?

Michael Jackson: The Official Exhibition is showing right now at London's O2 Arena, the site of Michael's ill-fated comeback tour. Personal belongings from the superstar's Neverland Ranch are featured, along with costumes, props, and other memorabilia from his epic career. Would you ever check it out, or does it freak you out?

The spot, sponsored by MoveOn, claims that insurance companies have gotten lazy and bloated from the profits - but a little competition from a fit and lean public option should get the system back in shape. With a new poll showing that the majority of Americans want a government-run health insurance plan that will compete with private insurance, this ad might convince the rest of Americans who oppose it. Do you find it persuasive?

Michelle Obama has been turned into an action figure just in time for the holidays! Starting Nov. 20, you can purchase a first lady action figure for the low, low price of $12.99.

Michelle comes in three different sleeveless outfits, but I think my favorite is the Narciso Rodriguez dress she wore on election night. It translates well to plastic.

The White House has "no comment" on the action figures, but what do you think about them?

Nobel prizes have been winning headlines these days. We all dissected President Obama's unlikely award last week, and this morning we got news that Elinor Ostrom became the first woman to win the prize for economics.

Now I'd like to call your attention to an invention that has gained Elena Bodnar the Ig Nobel prize in public health. Elena invented a bra that can be turned into a pair of face masks. According to the patent, each cup has a filter device so the wearer can protect herself while also offering a mask to a lucky bystander. In the case of a serious emergency, I suppose women won't mind ripping of their shirts and sharing their bras with someone else!

After taking time out of his busy schedule to escort Kathy Griffin to the Teen Choice Awards, Levi has now fit a commercial for pistachios into his busy 15 minutes of fame. Since Levi has no shame, the Wonderful Pistachios commercial includes a joke about "using protection." His son must be so proud! Did this commercial make you laugh, or are you so over Levi?

Positive Reinforcement Scale: Love It or Leave It?

I know positive reinforcement is important when you're trying to lose weight or maintain the weight you have, but if you buy a scale and keep it in your bathroom (especially a pink plushie scale), wouldn't you want the numbers?

After your third plate of super-sized nachos, is it really going to help you to step on a scale and see "lovely," "sexy," and "perfect"? If you're going to forego numbers, you might do it by getting my new invention, the Mom Scale. Get on it and instead of numbers, it will say, "Are you really going out in that?" or "I told you not to have that second piece of pie."

So what about this $55 dollar positive reinforcement plushie scale?
