Six Lobsters Are Found in Man's Pants

A San Diego man was busted for poaching when fish and game wardens noticed "odd bulges" in his pants. Wish I could've seen how that went down: "Is that a lobster in your pants? Or are you just . . . no, it's a lobster." The lobsters were unharmed and returned to the ocean. The Ventura County Star has the scoop on the crustacean smuggler. I gotta say, of all the things a dude could stuff down his pants, lobsters have got to be the worst choice.

DEARSUGAR Needs Your Help: What A Cheapskate!

DEARSUGAR and Weirded Out Whitnie need your help. She is on the fence about a guy that she has been dating. Most recently, out of the blue he not only asked her for exact change when the bill came after dinner, but he charged her more because her meal cost more. What would you do if you were in her shoes?

Dear Sugar
I have been on about six dates with a guy who I am feeling just OK about. He is smart, he is sexy, he's fit and he's kind, but I guess he just also seems sort of immature. For one thing, he always talks about how much he hates it when girls get more drunk than him and so they can't be the designated driver after a date.

Most recently, he took me to a restaurant where they specialize in lobster. I was really excited because I had told him that lobster is my favorite meal. When the check came, he told me that I owed him $52.36. I admit that I was a little bit shocked that he asked not only for money, but for exact change.

The bill was actually $85 including tip, but he told me that since I ordered the lobster (he got a steak by the way), that I owed more money. On each one of our other dates, I've always graciously offered to split the bill, but he insisted on paying.

Is it me, or would this confuse anyone? I have to say he made himself look like a cheapskate and I think this may have been a deal breaker for me. Should I talk to him about this? Would you go out with him again? What do you think? Weirded Out Whitnie

UN Leader: World Needs 50 Percent More Food

The world must produce 50 percent more food by 2030, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told world leaders yesterday at a summit hosted by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome.

The UN leader urged nations to minimize trade barriers, and to produce more food. Pope Benedict XVI had a slightly different message, noting that the world already has the means to solve the problem. The Pope said: "hunger and malnutrition are unacceptable in a world which, in reality, has sufficient production levels, the resources, and the know-how to put an end to these tragedies and their consequences."

While they meet about how to solve the immediate hunger crisis caused by rising food costs, world leaders don't want to look like a bunch of foodie hypocrites. To see what they'll be eating, read more.

Leaders, including Prime Minister Berlusconi of Italy, President Sarkozy of France, and Iran's Ahmadinejad, will dine off a more modest menu which includes: pasta, mozzarella, spinach and sweetcorn, instead of the usual lobster, goose, and foie gras. But don't worry, they'll still get to sample some Italian wines.

From where I'm sitting in America, surrounded by frequent news of chronic obesity, it's hard to imagine needing more food. The world leaders' decision to cut back on their own consumption may be a signal to those who have plenty, or to those who only experience the food crisis at the cash register, but not in their stomachs. Perhaps we need to increase the supply of food and cut back on demand in certain places.
