This month's Vanity Fair has an outrageously mysterious profile/psychological study wrapped in a tale of investigative journalism called "A Claim to Camelot." A man named Jack Worthington claims his mother had an affair with JFK and he's his son. If anything JFK-conspiracy based floats your boat, check out this piece immediately. There's a DNA test. Two of them! And a trip to the "largest collection of hair from historical figures. I'm not going to tell you how it winds up, the journey is half the fun and the story is hot.

Who could pass up this story with a teaser like this:

I have been retained to represent my client who is the son of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy in his effort to prove his paternity. . . . His mother . . only recently told my client that John F. Kennedy was his father. My client’s physical appearance and personality closely resemble JFK. Here's one more look at the resignation of Fidel Castro. It marks the end of an era, which has lasted since the communist rebel took power in 1959. Castro outlasted nine US presidents.

Castro survived several US backed assassination attempts, an economic embargo by the US, and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Given the history of Cuba shown in these fabulous vintage pictures, I wonder what is in store for his younger brother Raul, who officially took over Sunday.

Yay or Nay: Do "Presidential" Looks Matter?

Since the invention of TV, candidates cannot ignore the visual messages they give voters. A voter often chooses a candidate she deems more "presidential" looking.

Appearances first became important during the 1960 election between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon. At the first televised debate, Nixon's sweaty upper lip and five o'clock shadow, compared to Kennedy's tanned and youthful appearance, gave Kennedy an intangible advantage.

Pollsters are paying attention to which candidate voters perceive as more presidential this election season.

Do Tell: Which Celebrity Death Affected You Most?

On July 16, 1999, John F. Kennedy, Jr. took the fateful flight that ended in his death. I remember watching the news with my family as authorities looked for the missing Kennedy. As we sat around the TV, my parents recounted their memories of little John-John, and we were all so shocked when they announced that he had died. With no real connection to JFK, Jr. I still felt a whole lot of real sadness.

The 10th anniversary of JFK, Jr.'s death and the attention given to the recent death of Michael Jackson remind us that the death of a celebrity can really hit home. From John Lennon, to Princess Diana, Kurt Cobain, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, or John F. Kennedy, Jr., there have been so many famous deaths that have left the public collectively grieving. Which celebrity death affected you most in your lifetime?

Senator Barack Obama secured a huge endorsement from Democratic icon Senator Ted Kennedy. Teddy just delivered a stirring speech, hitting Hillary Clinton on all of her talking points regarding experience. The electricity in the room was palpable even for those watching from the other side of the television camera.

Senator Kennedy, often alluding to his brother President John F. Kennedy, said he has always planned to

"Support the candidate who inspires me, who inspires all of us, who can lift our vision and summon our hopes and renew our belief that our country's best days are still to come."

Caroline Kennedy, the sole survivor of President Kennedy, and Representative Patrick Kennedy joined in the Obama lovefest. The Kennedy endorsements will aid Obama on a national and local level. As the battle for delegates moves to congressional districts, the Kennedy stamp of approval may help local leaders feel confident endorsing Obama.

Inauguration Uh-Ohs: Food Fights, Drunk VPs, and Fire

President Obama has gone out of his way to echo Lincoln throughout the presidential transition, right down to his inauguration lunch where food the 16th president "would have enjoyed" was served. But not even Abe Lincoln's inauguration went smoothly. What could possibly go wrong? Let's look at what has at inaugurations past.

Andrew Jackson, the president of the people, was followed back to the White House by 20,000 well-wishers looking for ice cream, cake, and lemonade. It turned into a mob that nearly destroyed the White House and forced Jackson to exit through a back door.
A food fight broke out during Lincoln's inaugural supper.
Andrew Johnson, Lincoln's vice president, had come down with a bug on inauguration day, so he drank some whiskey to perk himself up. And then he drank some more! People held their heads in embarrassment while he rambled, drunk, through his speech.

NBC may soon name the next permanent host of Meet the Press. Whomever succeeds longtime host Tim Russert, who died unexpectedly earlier this year, will surely become one of the most influential journalists in the world.

Every president since John F. Kennedy, along with countless prominent national leaders, have appeared on Meet the Press, the longest running TV show in history. Do you think NBC should tap a well-seasoned journalist, or go with a younger anchor who can take the show in a new direction?
