Truth by Omission? McCain Disses Palin on Tonight Show
Apr 14 2009 - 10:30am This is how I like John McCain — kind of a jerk and completely blunt. Last night on The Tonight Show, Jay Leno asked McCain who he thought the leaders of the Republican party were, and he named Florida governor Charlie Crist, Louisiana governor (and 30 Rock's Kenneth the Page sound-alike) Bobby Jindal, and Mitt Romney (twice). And then to prove he didn't accidentally forget some lady governor who messed up his election, he said "and I've left out somebody's name and I'm going to hear about it."

Well, that settles it then, the wise old sage of the republican party has spoken. Everyone can get off Sarah Palin, her family, her friends, she no longer matters.

Others here have virtually ejected McCain from the party for not being a true republican - so are we sure what he says matters?

Wise old sage? He's the one that picked her. Look Sarah Palin is simply too much of a stigma for any seated politician who doesn't want that association to tarnish their image to embrace.

Like I've said before Gov. Palin has got plenty of time to get her game together because now she knows what to expect. Do not underestimate her.

Well to be honest, up until the election, she wouldn't have been considered a leader of the Republican party would she have? I mean, she was virtually unknown. Now she's better known, but being well-known and a leader of a party aren't synonymous.

I don't think McCain forgot her. I don't think he meant to slight her, either. I just don't think he considers her to be a leader of the party.

I think it is weird that he would intentionally point out that he didn't say her name. That just strikes me as odd.

Then the second thing that comes to mind is what Hypno said...he picked her. If he didn't think she was at least in the top 5 of his favorites, why would he have picked her? Odd.

He can say whatever he wants, if he thinks that Palin's not suitable leader, that's his opinion. Oh well.
I just can't see her running for presidency in 2012, I know that's what many assume, but still, I can't see her doing that based on what I've seen on tv so far. Maybe in 1-2 years, things can change and she's going to be actively pursuing that or something, who knows.

    UNBIASED reporting.

I'm pretty sure this site was initially based on two political voices giving biased opinions on topics. So while the voice of this story might seem to lean a tad left, there are PLENTY of stories with a lean to the right.

So over the this is biased, this is why I don't post here, this is why I've been in hiding, this is why I whine all the time comments that seem to show up from the same people every other day after every other day.

The problem is the "right" commentator has been let go, and we are curently getting all the stories from the "other" side. Have you noticed that everything is coming from the same person? It's difficult to have a fair and balanced discussion, when the stories to be discussed are based in the left.

    Interesting thought, Grandpa.

"The problem is the "right" commentator has been let go, and we are curently getting all the stories from the "other" side."

I'm venturing a guess that this issue was a bit more complicated, and wasn't one of those liberal conspiracies. Not that you're implying that, but I'm just throwing that out there.

"So over the this is biased, this is why I don't post here, this is why I've been in hiding, this is why I whine all the time comments that seem to show up from the same people every other day after every other day."
