Nicole Richie's Memorial Day E-Mail Invite

In Touch Weekly got a hold of an obnoxious email invitation from Nicole Richie to friends for a Memorial Day weekend get together. She invites her friends to "celebrate our country by drinking massive amounts of beer" and to "glorify this day in your sluttiest tops and your tightest pair of Tsubi jeans." The crowning touch? "No girls over 100 pounds allowed in." Wow. I'm as guilty as the next gal of enjoying fun, sun, barbeque and booze with only an afterthought to what Memorial Day means...but I'm not proud of it! Thanks for making me feel better about myself, Nicole!

Sex Once Every Two Weeks?

Sex once a week or every two weeks - is this normal? I feel like my boyfriend has lost interest in me. I've tried to spice it up a bit, but I don't know what else to do! I talk to him, and all he says is that I take the fun out by asking and nagging him about it all the time. So I try not to say anything and then nothing ever happens, or after a week or so he just wants oral. We have some of the best sex I've ever had and I'd be fine having sex daily - I'm so attracted to him! We live together and have for about a year now. Sometimes I wonder if that takes the spice out of it. I try to not just be a roommate though and to still be the girlfriend I was before. He just isn't very affectionate either; maybe that has something to do with it. I find it difficult to try to turn on someone who I can't make out with anytime of the day or touch him without him freaking out. What is his deal?! Do I dare say anything about him going to the doctor for Viagra? He's only 26!

Female Erotica Editor Says Men Write Better Sex

The debate over who can pen a better ménages à trois tale became an audible argument this week when British magazine Erotic Review named Kate Copstick its editor. It's an interesting choice, because she doesn't think women write erotica particularly well. Women, she told BBC's Radio 4, "have an agenda, they complicate sex, they make layers, it’s conditional."

Maybe she's just telling it like it is and that's why she's editing an erotic magazine, but if anything I'd say women are more likely to prefer erotica by women. Or maybe she's trying to compensate for the womanly touch she'll bring. (Porn will not go soft on her watch!) She ensured that by saying she'd seek male writers so the magazine won't be "drowned in estrogen."

Perhaps it's all just a publicity stunt. After all, isn't it about the finished product and not who wrote it? Who ever said women can't write about sex? Besides Kate Copstick (Copstick!).

A&E's Obsessed Explores Extreme Hoarding

This week's A&E’s Obsessed, in its exploration of the obsessive compulsive disorder extreme hoarding, will have you cleaning up your apartment or desk and feeling for poor Russ, who can't stop buying things and also can't bear to throw anything away. "I get attached to things," he says, "because I don't have people to care about."

As a result, Russ's apartment is packed to the gills with furniture, mattresses, antiques, and tchotchkes that literally keep him from getting past his front door. In fact, he admits he's slept in front of it before because he couldn't get past his junk. He sometimes even sleeps outside, where he says there's at least fresh air and no feeling of claustrophobia. Why would someone accumulate so much stuff that his home becomes uninhabitable and unfit for guests? According to Russ's cognitive behavioral therapist, a hoarder cannot distinguish the level of an object's importance with respect to other objects. Everything is important, everything imbued with sentimental value, everything may be something the hoarder will need in the future.

In Russ's case, losing his mother was the trigger for his hoarding. "When I touch or hold a keepsake," he says, "it's like being held nearby her." But we're not just talking about photos of his mother or things she owned. Russ struggles with his therapist to throw away a dime store Santa figurine because it's wearing a purple scarf - his mother's favorite color.

Lucky for Russ, he has a great therapist and the true desire to let go of these objects and their relation to his losses so that he can clear the way for a new life.

Uh-Oh: Michelle Obama Sports $540 Shoes

The Obamas are down to earth from their heads down to their toes. Oh wait, scratch that. Earlier this week, Michelle was spotted wearing these Lanvin sneakers, which go for $540. Oops.

The first lady's camp has responded to questions about the pricey fashion statement by saying, "They're shoes."

Michelle and Barack have largely avoided looking like they're out of touch with many struggling Americans. During the campaign, Obama's camp made sure to reiterate that John McCain owned seven homes. And I definitely remember stories about John McCain's $520 Ferragamos, while we were treated to the worn-down soles of Obama's shoes in photographs.

Should Michelle be able to wear what she wants if she can afford it, or should the first lady coordinate her footwear with the tough economic times?

Tech Dating 101: Using Your Phone While on a Date

Sometimes we all need a little help navigating the choppy waters of dating when tech gets tossed into the mix, which is why geeksugar and I have teamed up for another installment of Tech Dating 101. Last week, we talked about canceling a date via text, and this week we're discussing whether or not texting and making calls during your date is acceptable dinner etiquette.

I'll make this one simple. Using your phone while you're on a date is rude - period. A date should be about you and the person you're with, trying to get to know one another, enjoying your time together, and most importantly, not worrying about what your friends are doing or who is trying to get in touch with you.

If you're on a date with your long-term boyfriend or your husband, my opinion is a little different, especially if you have kids. While I think having chats at the dinner table is still impolite, I do think checking to see who is calling or reading a text is acceptable if you're trying to make plans with other couples or if you're calling to check in with the babysitter, but taking it any further is still a no-no in my book.

However, if you're on a blind date and you think there's a chance you'll need to make a quick escape, by all means keep that phone on the table for your "emergency call" from your best friend!

Shocking & Predictable: "Octomom" in Talks For Reality Show

Nadya Suleman isn't going away anytime soon. The mother of 14, who already has the tabloid-ready nickname "Octomom," is in talks for a reality show to be broadcast either on TV or online, according to In Touch Weekly.

While America already has Jon & Kate Plus 8 and 17 Kids and Counting, Nadya's show has a new twist: it will be about parenting and the single mom's quest for love. Seriously? She has time to date?

While there's no you-must-have-your-life-together" requirement for reality TV (in fact I think it's the exact opposite), chronicling this woman's life for entertainment purposes just sounds depressing. Still I can't think of many people who wouldn't feel better about their life situation after watching this rumored show. I guess we need that in these tough times?

I'd like to think everyone is a little Octomomed out at this point. But clearly Nadya Suleman needs the money, and the American audience seems willing to watch so she can get paid.

How to Avoid Getting Your Significant Other Sick

Spring is here, but with the temperature change brings illness. I know too many people sick with a cold, the flu, or stomach bug right now, so here are some ways to prevent spreading your sick germs to your loved one.

Don't touch your significant other or their personal stuff. That means no kissing, no hugging, no holding hands, and no using their phone, remote control, water bottle, lip balm, laptop, etc.
Disinfect the personal items in your home, car, and at work to kill germs since they can live on surfaces for up to two days.
The best thing to do is get some space. Even if you start feeling better, you can still be contagious. If it's a stomach bug, avoid each other for three days after the time you start feeling better. If it's a cold or the flu, keep in mind that you're contagious for the entire time you're experiencing symptoms, which could be up to two weeks.
This is a tough one, but resist the urge to sleep in the same bed. If you live together, separate and have one of you sleep in the guest room or on the couch. If that's not possible, sleep facing opposite directions and be sure to frequently wash your sheets in hot water. If you don't live together, even better - spend the night at your own places until you're no longer contagious.
Take care of yourself by drinking hot liquids, eating nutritious foods, and resting.

Group Therapy: Can You Please Help Me Understand Her?

I could really use some female perspective here. This past weekend I met a girl at a bar and we totally hit it off. We ended up going home together, we had a great evening, and in the morning, before parting ways, we exchanged phone numbers saying that we would get in touch to see each other again. There was some casual flirting via text message the next day and I told her I would call her later on in the week to set something up. When I tried calling her, I got her voice mail and left a messaging asking if she wanted to hang out some time. A day later I got a message from her, which just told me that she needed some time to fix her life up a little and even though she liked me, didn't want to start anything serious.

I realize that I was just "let down nicely," but I guess I am just confused as to why there was talk of meeting up again if she didn't want to. I wasn't looking to start anything serious yet either, I just wanted to get to know her better since she seemed interesting enough. How do I follow up on this? Should I take the hint and not respond? Should I pursue her and see if she has a change of heart? I've never been in this situation before so I could use all the advice I can get!
