I'm getting married in four months. My fiancé and I have been in a bit of a tussle over the past year regarding what to do with my last name. I'm engaged and from the beginning of our relationship, I told my boyfriend that I was not going to change my last name after we were married and that if he really wanted me to, I'd hyphenate. My last name is rather important to me as it's long and Italian and I'm very proud of where I come from and what I've gone through with it (I grew up in small town Midwest so I was teased a lot).
