I can only imagine this (presumably drunk) guy getting the above tattoo while obnoxiously announcing, "Eat your heart out Hannibal Lecter!" But dude, this is not the way to impress a chick. I don't care how much it hurt. A woman's Prince Charming will never have the face of Hannibal Lecter inked into his skin. It just defies the laws of common sense and sensibility. You would have been better off getting, oh I don't know, a recliner etched onto your butt. It's still scary, but not in that flesh-eating serial killer sort of way.

The horror movie music and lighting weren't even necessary. It's frightening enough that this woman would bend over backwards (literally), foam at the mouth, and then allow the camera to film her at this angle--all for a mere 15 seconds of fame. Even the dog looks scared.

Why Do Many Women Like Horror Films?

An interesting New York Times article over the weekend tries to figure out why recent box office returns are showing that more women have been going to see horror films than men.

Film professor Carol Clover had one interesting theory why women like horror films in her book Men, Women and Chainsaws. In many slasher films, she argues, including Halloween and Friday the 13th, there may be many female victims, but there's always one girl left standing (the "final girl") who gets to off the villain in the end.

Diablo Cody, director of the upcoming film Jennifer's Body, a horror-comedy about a female sexpot boy-killer, agrees that's why she loved horror films as a teen. "When I watched movies like ‘The Goonies’ and ‘E.T.,’ " she explained, "it was boys having adventures. When I watched ‘Nightmare on Elm Street,’ it was Nancy beating up Freddy. It was that simple."

Today's hard-core torture porn films may show men and women equally as victims, but folks like Rob Zombie are still baffled as to why women would want to see them. Do you like horror movies? If so, why?

In place of its banal but chipper song is something straight out of a horror film. Come to think of it - Diff'rent Strokes was a pretty weird show.

Watching this compilation of women's faces as they get the wax strips ripped off their lady parts is much like watching a horror film. You know, when women are wandering around in the dark, as the psycho is right behind them with a machete? You want to say, "Don't do it!" but all you can do is watch. I love how one of the waxers says, "This will be absolutely painless." Ha! Riiight.

Arkansas Man Lives Undetected in Woman's Attic For Days

Nope, that's not the plotline to a Hollywood horror film, but it might as well be. Pennsylvania resident Stacy Ferrance and her family got the shock of their lives when they discovered, after things had gone missing in their home for days around Christmas time, that some creepy dude had been living in their attic for about a week. 21-year-old Stanley Carter had been staying with Ferrance's neighbors next door, but when they asked him to leave, the unwanted guest decided to check out the attic next door. Carter also checked out the Ferrance's laptop, furnishings, and - when he finally emerged knowing that the cops were in the house - he was wearing Stacy's daughter's pajama bottoms (!) and Stacy's top. I was watching this creepy Korean horror film A Tale of Two Sisters over the weekend and somehow stumbled upon another Tale of Two Sisters, a "dreamy, seductive vision based on [Charlie] Sheen's poetry . . ." Ummm, what?!
