So San Francisco hipsters are doing something besides walkin' around too cool for school in their hoodies and ultra-tight jeans: They're creating art out of Fruity Pebbles. You heard me right! I know you thought that was just a screen shot up there of ol' Larry King, but it's hottie artist Ryan Alexiev's rendition of the television icon in the unique medium of breakfast cereal.

Like Valley Girl before it, Hipster Girl describes a chick du jour with all-too-recognizable traits. (Especially in my 'hood!) Although this girl's a little too clean and mall rat to be a true hipster girl (she's more Ashlee Simpson than Karen O), she's got all the hipster ingredients. She knows all the indie bands you've never heard of, she thinks uncool stuff is "mad cool," and she wears a Shins T-shirt with flip-flops.

Usually, any attempt to mock hipsters leaves the mocker looking out of touch and even lamer, which is why it's best left to the indigenous homeboys themselves. It also helps if it's done as a biblical tale with God dressed as David Bowie!
"Hipster Job" is about a bro named Job, as in G.O.B from Arrested Development or the lesser known Job from the Bible's Book of Job.

I want to print this thing out and just walk around my neighborhood. I wonder when the hoodie, Chuck Taylors, and trucker-cap are going to seem as outdated as polyester bell-bottoms? Not soon enough.

He likes dogs cuz dogs are cool. (How could you argue with that?) I'm digging the minimalism and sentiment of this amazing music video. But even better?

Sue Teller is the bomb! In this Mountain Dew ad, she wears black fingernail polish, uses the word "crunk," and shows you how to make a mash-up! What-what?!

Some controversy's been a-boilin' up in a hipster part of town in San Francisco. The dilemma: Should the neighborhood allow American Apparel to open up a store in a neighborhood with no chain stores and risk starting a trend, or should they keep it real with locally owned funky shops? I thought it was already ironic that many people on the vehemently anti-American Apparel side admitted to wearing American Apparel clothes as they protested — and then I saw this picture.

This is the most ironic sport of Olympic proportion since curling in the 1924 winter games. Watch four hipsters put their superiority to the test as they duke it out in the most nonchalant way possible for a title they couldn't care less about. They'll race to cash a check from the 'rents, go ironic t-shirt shopping, master a MySpace photo sesh, and other such strenuous activities.

This low-budget music video by The Avalanches is a trip. The song is called "Frontier Psychiatrist" and the vid comes complete with a granny drummer, a chorus of "spooky" ghosts, a human-headed turtle, a squawking bird gone wild, and old mic men waving their hands in the air like they just don't care. If this fun freakfest is what happens in the heads of the clinically "crazy," then sign me up!
