This dude looks really happy to be taking a shower outdoors with his awesome Solar Sun Shower II. (I'm sure those around this guy who hasn't bathed in a while are very happy, too.) I question the historical accuracy of this product, though. I didn't think hippies liked to bathe!

Only in the 70's would we have been baked enough to orchestrate this kind of madness and then expose our children to it on a regular basis. The following is one of the musical interludes between segments of the children's program, "Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp." I know zilch about the show, but I do know that I dig these groovy monkeys man. They're way far out and, like Ed Sullivan, make me go whoo! whoo! whoo! whoo!

Girl Crush du Jour: Alison Brie

Adorable. No word better sums up actress Alison Brie. And while I am sure the 26-year-old would prefer a more sophisticated adjective, she does play Trudy Campbell on Mad Men and ain't nothin' more sophisticated than that. Combine that with her success as the strung-out community college student on NBC's Community, and how I could not be crushing?

Other than radiating ebullience in real life, Alison, who says she's rarely recognized on the street, seems nothing like either character. She grew up with hippie parents in South Pasadena, CA, where she still lives and showed up to a Pasadena Weekly interview in a "Die Yuppie Scum" t-shirt.

But Alison's not as innocent as she or her characters look. She told Pasadena Weekly: "I don’t know why people see me . . . like I’m all prim and proper, when I couldn’t be more different. People think I come off that way, but I’m not.”

She's right. In this 2007 skit, she dishes it right back to the Internet's most infamous yogi, The Underminer, when he asks her to be in his variety show that's like "Curb Your Enthusiasm meets You Can't Do That on Television." Namaste! Watch it below.

In a Dream: a Memoir Told Through Mural

When Isaiah Zagar moved to Philadelphia in the 1960s, he started creating a massive mural made of shards of glass and tile on the side of an abandoned building. The ongoing art chronicled the highs and lows of his marriage and the life of his two sons, one of whom has now made a documentary about the memoir in mosaic, called In a Dream. In a recent interview, filmmaker Jeremiah Zagar talks about his parents' hippie existence and the impetus for the project: "My mother decided I should film my family, sort of in the same way she decided my father should make art about our family." The documentary, which airs on HBO 2 tonight and comes out on DVD in September, records his father's nervous breakdown and his brother's time in rehab. I love the line in the trailer when Isaiah says, "You know a lot when you lose something. When you got it, you don't know." Now I really want to see this mural.

Money Woes Mean No Woodstock Anniversary Concert

If you want to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Woodstock this Summer, you'll have to head to a movie theater. Thanks to a lack of money and sponsors, a previously planned commemorative concert won't be happening.

The original promoters of Woodstock had planned to hold a free concert in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, an event that was sure to replace hippies with hipsters.

At least Hollywood's here to re-create the epic concert. Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock opens on Aug. 28 and the cast includes some geeky dreamboats, like Emile Hirsch and Demetri Martin. All is not lost.

Do You Like Guys With Tattoos?

My tastes are all over the map - nerds, hippies, and, like The Bangz here - I really like boys with tattoos. Whether they're hidden under Oxfords or displayed out in the open, unless it's a tribal tattoo or mistranslated Chinese characters, I think tattoos on guys are sexy.

Sometimes a song and the ~~inspired~~ drugged-out dancer who’s into it make it impossible not to follow suit. Check out the chain reaction of happiness here on some random hippie hill on a sunny day. It’s pretty awesome, and I hope my weekend is this unstoppable!
