This past Saturday, women from all over Germany participated in a 100 meter race that required endurance, balance and insanity. That's because the athletes were running in spiked heel shoes at least 2.7 inches high with heels no more than .6 inches in diameter. I guess if a pair of new Choos needed any breaking in, this was the quickest way to do it. But ladies, it's one thing to put your dignity at risk and quite another to take your ankles down with it! There's no word on how many injuries resulted from this sporting event.

I receive many questions from women asking for easy tips to help them perfect their walk in high heels. Unfortunately there is no quick answer, but practice will make perfect. For some helpful tips to master the walk read more

Heels are not for everyone so if you have a difficult time walking in them, even after you take these tips into consideration, opt for flats
Start with a low or thick heel and gradually increase the heel height as you get the hang of your walk
Walking in heels can be hellish on your feet, back, and neck, so be sure to stretch your legs before and after spending long hours in your shoes
While heels lengthen the leg and flatter most outfits, they don't need to be stilettos to be fashionable. Platforms and stacked heels offer the same lift and are easier to walk in
Wearing high heels can throw off your balance so use your arms to help keep you straight, keep your chin up and shoulders back
Walk with your legs straight and as close together as you can
Make small strides at first and place your heel down first
Avoid wearing heels in slippery, slushy or rocky pavement where you can sink into the ground or slip
If you frequently wear heels, make sure to give your feet a rest from time to time. Try alternating with flats every other day
If you wear heels to work or out to dinner, while you are sitting down, take your feet out of your shoes and give them a stretch

Although heels can make you feel and look very sexy, keep in mind the health risks and long term effects you could be signing yourself up for. Walk safely!

Marjan Pejoski is the designer responsible for this fashion forward move and although he took one step back with the graceless swan choke-hold of a dress Bjork wore way back when, he's now making meel-high strides in the area of gender equity. Finally, men get to walk on stilts all day and see how it feels! (I secretly think they're hot!) Now if only Pejoski could design something to take care of that prevalent moob (man + boob) problem? Heelarious? Heel no! Baby's first high heels are just so wrong I'm not going to waste space pointing out the obvious. Just look at that picture above. I don't even wear high heels, so the idea that an infant needs "completely soft, fully functional high heel crib shoes" is just dumb. What's next, baby's first thong?

Dear Sugar
My boyfriend told me about his fetish last night.

He says that he'd like me to keep high, spiky heels on during sex and that for foreplay he wants to be adventurous with the heel and watch me lick them, etc..

Try this for him just once and keep an open mind. You are correct in thinking that you need to nurture his candor with you - so don't mock him or make fun of him.

Try it and see what happens. It could even be fun. But you definitely have the right to draw the line somewhere. If he asks you to do something to or with the heels that you don't want to do, just say NO.

When you are finished with this experiment, judge the experience. If you think he's too much of a pervert for you, then you've got legitimate grounds for breaking up over sex...but if he's just being honest and likes how a beautiful shoe makes a woman's leg look, give him a break and indulge him!
