Sex sells, but there's nothing remotely sexy about a sponge, especially a dirty sponge. Well, some advertising sleazeball thought a filthy sponge was exactly what this world needed, so he made hedgehog-on-sponge porn and called it a commercial. It's shameless, unnecessary, and my poor dishes now feel betrayed.

I'll admit it, I have a thing for hedgehogs. Maybe it's remnants of my childhood love for Sonic the Hedgehog, or maybe it's just the fact that they are so cute, but I tend to gush whenever I see them. Adorable silk-screening company Foxy & Winston first registered on my radar this Spring when I visited the company's booth at the Brooklyn Flea Market. Run by British-born illustrator and owner Jane Buck, Foxy & Winston's brick and mortar shop is located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where Jane designs and manufactures each product by hand in the back studio. Jane recently posted these new hedgehog pillows on the Foxy & Winston Facebook page, and I'm in love. I can imagine these pillows looking adorable both in a children's bedroom and in a youthful modern living room. The turquoise color and beautifully illustrated hedgehog outline are so fresh and fun. While the pillows aren't yet available online, you can grab a hedgehog-screen-printed bag or tea towel from Foxy & Winston's online store. And of course, if you're in Brooklyn, you can grab a pillow from the shop, located in Red Hook at 392 Van Brunt Street.

When I checked out Foxy & Winston's products in person, I was impressed by the quality of the illustrations, the silk-screen, and the products Jane uses. Also great is the fact that the company is very eco-aware. Jane notes, "To tread more lightly on the planet, Foxy & Winston works to reduce the use of energy and resources and promote sustainable use: we use only 100 percent postconsumer recycled paper, organic apparel, and nontoxic water-based paints. Foxy & Winston recycles/ reuses all packaging and paper scraps, and makes a monthly donation to the World Wildlife Fund's Rescue Team."
