Gwen Stefani in "Aren't Asians Great?"

OK, it's not really Gwen, but she's a pretty good impersonator. In this Mad TV spoof of Gwen Stefani and her mute human accessories the Harajuku Girls (here played by the awesome Bobby Lee), we're asked to think about what it means when some people looooooove Asian culture (or what they stereotype as Asian culture) a bit too much. My fave line? "Sour and sweet/bound feet!" That pretty much sums it up.

_____ Is The New _____

Gwen is the new Bollywood Rock Star.

Watch the two videos below and you'll find that they share more than a few common denominators. To wind it down for you: there's the heavily costumed, "what the hell is everyone wearing in this music video?" factor, in addition to the not so subtle, over-the-top production number choreography. ...And let's not forget about the ubiquitous RANDOM RANDOMNESS.

Gwen Stefani: "Wind It Up"

Astrology: Do You Believe in Saturn's Return?

If you're anywhere between 27 and 30 and have ever had, oh, a problem, someone might tell you not to worry - or, actually do worry. It's all part of a perfect celestial storm known as Saturn's return. Taking about 29 years to orbit the Earth, Saturn returns to the place it was in at your birth every 29 years. This means one thing to astrologers - rebirth!

Birth is painful; rebirth isn't much better, especially considering Saturn is a sign of growth. Astrologers believe Saturn's return represents life changes: the first time it returns in your late 20s, you enter adulthood. The next time, around 60, you enter maturity, and the final time, at 90, you enter the wisdom of old age. None of it comes easy.

So what does Saturn's return mean for those approaching 30? It's out with the old and in with the new: self-examination, career changes, bad relationships ending, good relationships deepening, and, hey, maybe you'll have a baby! To which I say, these are all things that happen anyway.

Yet, Saturn's return is all over pop culture. No Doubt named its 2000 album Return of Saturn as Gwen Stefani approached her 29th birthday; there's a book - Surviving Saturn's Return - about it; and then there's this amazing blog that connects Saturn's return with events in celebrities lives. It's quite morbid, actually, blaming Annie Leibovitz's money troubles and the deaths of John Hughes, Heath Ledger, and Julia Child on the return of Saturn.

Sound about right to you, or should the idea return to outer space?

Source Flickr User LarsOh

Fergie at a Spelling Bee!

Look, so it might be suspicious to the pugnacious that Fergie's spelling words all end in "-ous." But don't be hatin' her because she's glamorous, mmm-kay? What I want to see is a match between her and Gwen Stefani. That would be B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

Versatile Spring Coats

Dear Sugar
I am looking for a spring jacket that can be worn to work (with pants) and would not look too stuffy to go out in. I would prefer something other than trench style. Thanks.
Cool Coat Caren

Dear Cool Coat Caren
The trench is so easy to wear, but I hear you, it's a little bit boring. Ok, I've got 4 suggestions for in different price ranges. Ann Taylor has some really cute and not terribly expensive suede and leather jackets. Burberry makes a classic nylon coat with it's signature print on the inside called The Constance Quilted Jacket. It's a multipurpose coat, pretty casual yet smart enough looking that you can wear it all of the time. It comes in a short version or a car coat length and is available in lots of colors. Diane Von Furstenberg just came out with an adorable drawstring cotton coat that has a Jackie O. kind of 60's flair to it. It's fabulous for the office and flirty enough for going out to dinners and things. Lastly, Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. line has some super fashionable jackets and coats. They are pricey, but have a unique look to them.
