Who needs a dog when you have a growling 10-month-old? In babezilla's defense, I'm usually this aggro (and then some) before my morning cup of calm. Some freshly brewed caffeine may do this little monster some good. If that doesn't work then dare I say - diaper duty? There's just no avoiding it sometimes.

Don't Dare Towel Dry This Dog

This little chihuahua has a pet peeve and it's not the household cat. It's even worse. It's getting towel dried. If being cleaned isn't rude enough, then being tortured with a towel is-- and this pup ain't gonna stand for it anymore! (Well, actually, he will stand and be a good dog while his owner rubs him dry, but he'll ferociously growl the entire time. As a warning.)

Poodle Pup Doesn't Like That Dude in the Mirror

It's time once again for an episode of "cute animal doesn't like what he sees in the mirror." Tune in and watch ~~a menacing~~ an adorable curly-haired puppy that keeps growling, barking, and tormenting the hapless pup on the other side of the mirror. It's compelling stuff, people! I especially like how he gets bored like a minute into it and scampers off to play. All bark, no bite. Typical.

Dog Awarded Law Degree

Skeeter the service dog (not pictured above - that's just some other cute dog in a lawyer's collar), was given an honorary law degree along with the woman he aids, Amy Jones, who received her juris degree this Saturday from Baylor University. Amy was paired with Skeeter two years after a skiing accident left her a paraplegic, and according to law school Dean Brad Toben, "Skeeter has become a part of our community and part of our family here at the law school." In addition to being helpful and cute as hell, Skeeter is a pro. Says one fellow Baylor law grad, "Everyone loves playing with Skeeter, but Skeeter always knows when he's working." He can't help himself, though. He manages to "occasionally add a growl to a professor's lecture for added emphasis." Go, Skeeter! The law profession is better now that it's going to the dogs! Dear E. Jean,
Last weekend I had a new guy over for dinner. I spent two days cleaning, one day cooking, and everything went fantastically until we started watching a movie after dessert and fooling around on the couch. I admit I had three cognacs, but as he was kissing me, I began laughing at the movie and at one point I started repeating some of the dialogue.

E. Jean, I couldn’t help myself. It was Dr. Strangelove. The guy is a movie buff and a big Kubrick fan! Anyway, once I started laughing, I couldn’t stop. I apologized about 50 times, but he got up abruptly, said "Thank you for dinner," made a dash for the front door . . . and left!

I got a text from him the next day that said "You’re the only woman I know who can cook like Martha Stewart and talk like Slim Pickens."

Obviously I hurt his ego. But must I remain totally silent when a guy starts making his moves on me? - Love Is Very Strange

No, indeed. I’m tired of men telling women what they may and may not do when snogging. It is perfectly proper for a young lady to sigh, snort softly, moan, whimper, mewl, twitter, howl in a low voice, hiss, growl, squeal, whine, purr, and scream faintly. However, it is considered bad form to laugh more than 20 minutes or, when hooking up with a new boyfriend, to say aloud any of the following:

"How much do you love me?"
"Nevermind the sores. They don’t really itch that much."
"Do you want to move in, or just get married immediately?"
"Oh, don’t worry, I can IM my girlfriends and have sex with you at the same time."
"I just love playing with your man boobs!"

Saying anything else is permitted - particularly juicy impersonations of Mr. Slim Pickens. Because, of course, you’re supposed to laugh at Dr. Strangelove. ("Gentlemen! No fighting in the war room!") It’s one of the funniest movies in the history of cinema. As for the guy? The poor chap is so thin-skinned it's amazing he could keep his liver from falling out of his body and dropping onto the floor.
