Remember when it was funny for an unsuspecting pedestrian to slip on a banana peel and take a tumble to the ground? Well, consider this a modern day equivalent. Switch out the banana for a heaping pile of duck poo and Granny here is a regular ol' comedian! But at least she has loving grandchildren to come to her rescue . . . and laugh.

Those television anchors are at it again! This video is not for the squeamish, but I find it hilarious on so many levels. It's in a foreign language, the sexy television host does something shocking (let's just say I was surprised her head didn't spin around afterwards), and she has like a two second recovery time. Now that's what I call professionalism!

Are You There God? Bill Maher Sells Doubt in Religulous

A wordplay on ridiculous, Bill Maher's new docu-comedy Religulous found its calling this weekend when it opened across the country. It grossed a modest $3.5 million and ranked number 10 at the box office, but I suspect many people will have an opinion regardless of whether they see it.

Directed by Larry Charles of Borat and Curb Your Enthusiasm, Religulous will remind you of everyone's favorite Kazakhstani roaming around America, exposing isms and making enemies. It adopts the same wanderlust quality and lets Maher loose in the US, Europe, and Middle East to humiliate unsuspecting people.

I decided to check out the movie this weekend so I could report back to you today. To find out what I thought, read more.

I keep hearing that Maher can't expect to appeal to religious people by belittling them, but I don't think that's his goal. He's not talking to them. He's talking to the 16 percent of Americans that consider themselves nonreligious - challenging them to talk openly about doubt.

In the doc, Maher interviews Christians, Jews, and Muslims, most of whom are easy targets for comedy. Here are a few that stood out.

Senator Mark Pryor (AK-D): This senator may never live down saying, "You don't need to pass an IQ test to be in the Senate." Guess not!
José Luis de Jesús Miranda (Messiah in Miami): José believes Jesus's lineage moved through Europe until it reached Spain and then made the voyage to Puerto Rico, where he was born. People should follow him over Jesus, he says, because Jesus was Jewish and he is Christian.
Roman Catholic Priest (Vatican): I could have watched this man for the whole movie. He laughs. And laughs. And genuinely seems amused by illogical teachings and contradictions in the Catholic Church. Unfortunately, Maher does not dig enough to learn how he rationalizes the two. The priest does leave us these words: People are going to believe what they want, and then they'll die. Amen.

I wish we heard more from the skeptical devout like the Vatican priest. In fact, I had hoped Maher would interview Stephen Colbert (real-life Stephen, though fake would do). Colbert's a practicing Catholic (he even teaches Sunday School) who would appreciate the irreverent humor and, unlike most of Maher's victims, be savvy enough to keep up. But when it was over, I was really only fixated on one fact. Did you know there's a theme park in Orlando called The Holy Land? There you can experience the "wonder of ancient Israel."

You can always spot our reader of the week, Kiddylnd, by the cute pit bull avatar that represents her. She's funny, kind (she fosters pit bulls and tells a moving story about an old friend, Pride), and reminds me how much I love to get to know my readers! GS: What's your motto?
KL: "Move over bacon!" No, that's not it. "Help control the pet population, have..." No, that's not it either. Motto, eh? Well, I'm a big fan of "Do unto others, unless they bug the sh*t out of you, then screw 'em!"

GS: Where are you from?
KL: Seattle, Washington. I live 3 1/2 blocks from the house I grew up in. Sheltered, I know. I'd rather be sheltered in a city. I'm not a country girl AT ALL. Plus, living in the land of coffee is the best thing ever. We seriously have a corner with a Tully's across from a Starbucks, across from a soon to be Peet's, with a local coffee shop two doors down, a tea store next to that, and another Starbucks inside the Safeway next to the Tully's.

GS: What do you do?
KL: I work at an animal shelter selling pet licenses and taking all you guys' money! It's both the most fulfilling and saddest thing ever. On the plus side, when I'm having a bad day, all I need to do is snuggle up with a pup!

GS: How would you describe your sense of humor?
KL: Sarcasm, with a hint of third grade potty talk. I'm quick with the wit, but only out of necessity-I gotta keep up with my friends!

GS: What's your favorite GiggleSugar post?
KL: Are you serious? I have to pick just one?! I'm gonna go with any of the douchebag posts, particularly Portrait of a Douchebag since, sadly, I remember a time when I would have thought this dude was all that. Sad, so very sad.

GS: Who's the cutest funny man and funny woman?
KL: Hmmm...I don't think of funny people as being cute. Is that wrong?

GS: Who are your favorite male and female comedians?
KL: Kevin Smith is the smartest, funniest out there. He should do stand-up. His movies are too under appreciated. Margaret Cho is another fave. You can't miss with her! Others would be Ellen, Paula Poundstone, Stephen Colbert. I do enjoy some Carlos Mencia, but not all the time. I mostly like the "beaner" jokes since I'm a "beaner..."

GS: What's your favorite comedy of all time?
KL: Cry Baby. If you have not seen this, it's a must. Johnny Depp in a 21 Jump Street era, Ricki Lake, and a trying-to-break-free from the porn business Tracy Lords.

GS: If your life were a comedy, what would it be?
KL: The Jerk. Kidding! I haven't ever really thought of that. In my late teens, Party Girl (minus the getting arrested). I don't know now. Sad. I'll have to think on that one.

GS: Do you look like someone famous?
KL: No. I only look like me.

KL free-for-all: I love the randomness of life! I like to run, but in Seattle in fall that can be a challenge because I'm such a girl I can't get my hair wet! I was always teased by my friends for being the "mom" of the group. (I blame them for me becoming one so early on.) I have a nine-year-old son who is the light of my life. I let him watch things he shouldn't, like Jay and Silent Bob. He's got a great sense of humor, and we laugh all the time. All of my friends are lesbians. I'm still not sure how that happened. Probably because I get to know people first, then find out later. I mean my best friend I've known since we were eight years old, so I obviously didn't know then! It's fun though, because I can gross them out with stories of my sexploits. I don't drink much (anymore!), but I love a nice Riesling, and I LOVE me some Asian Pear Sake. I love animals, and have some VERY strong opinions about animal care and sheltering. Don't breed or buy, while shelter pets die! Oh, and Hello Kitty rocks.

This beautiful woman may look familiar. Is it LorenAshley? Nope. It's the person LorenAshley says she's going to look like after all the plastic surgery. Haha. We like Loren at GiggleSugar cuz she's got that edge that rounds out all the cuteness and fluffitude. (There are so many fuzzy bunnies one can look at--am I right?) GS: What do you do?
LA: You mean other than prank calling priests using my "9 year old boy voice?" I am a student studying marketing.

GS: Describe your sense of humor.
LA: Just a plain old goofy girl.

GS: What's your favorite GiggleSugar post?
LA: Cookin' Meth with Rena Ray! I can't stand Rachael but her "sis" and I could be best friends. I love that Rena, a drug dealer, looks more put together than Rachael--she always looks rattled and thrown away.

GS: Who are the cutest comedians?
LA: Sandra Berhardt--if you like the "I just got hit with a hot skillet look" like i do, and Bruce Vilanch. (GS: I love Sandra and her tough look!) What can I say? I like 'em gross.

GS: Who are your favorite comedians?
LA: You gotta love Sara Silverman. She's a riot. I love that she doesn't hold anything back. She's got enormous balls. Jeff Ross--if you don't know who this man is PLEASE look him up! he's fearless! Love that man!

GS: What's your favorite comedy?
LA: The movie Grandma's Boy!!!! If you haven't seen this movie..PLEASE DO! It's outstanding. I am shocked that more people haven't seen it.

GS: If your life were a movie, what would it be?
LA: If you like seeing Jehovah's Witnesses get doors slammed in their face then you'll LOVE my show!

GS: Do you look like someone famous?
LA: Once I get all my plastic surgery done I will look JUST LIKE Gabrielle Union!
