Richard Cohen claims that he used to be gay, and that now that he's done weird sh*t like hug men who act as father figures (you know, just to be "close") and beat on pillows pretending he's striking his mom, it's all good and he doesn't like dudes anymore. Sorry, Richard, but you're an ex-gay the way I am an ex-nachos eater. I could say that, but if I passed by a gleaming plate full of tortilla chips, loaded with salsa, guacamole, and maybe even jalapenos, and "had a taste," you can bet I would feel a ~~sexual~~ strong connection to them. It's just the way I'm wired, and I'm OK with that.

Something's a-brewin' in the world of masculinity. It's called the "bromance," and it's an attempt by straight men to be friends without being all gay about it. Unfortunately, it's kind of homophobic, and it's spawned an insulting credo, "Bros before hos," which pits girlfriends as the bromance's public enemy number one. Clearly, men have a yearning to be close, outside of a football field or war zone, so the idea of bromances is a step in the right direction. But do men have to be jerks and diss women and gay dudes in the process? (Incidentally, bromance culture has blown up in large part because of Judd Apatow, whose films, including Knocked Up, 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad, and Pineapple Express, should have their own genre - the Brom-Com, or Bromantic Comedy.) So tell me, what do you make of the new bromance culture?

Taunted mercilessly in high school, Ryan found a home at George Mason, which he says prides itself on its openness to diversity. He began performing as his drag alter ego at nightclubs, emceed Mason's drag show, and wore a silver bra and animal-print pants while lip-syncing Britney's "Womanizer" at the qualifying pageant.

Gay Penguin Pair Tie the Knot

Gay Bob here probably did no favors for gay folks when he was released. (My guess is this was from the '70s or early '80s.) First of all, from a marketing perspective, why would "everyone" want a gay doll? I can't even think of too many gay people who would want one. And then lets get to Gay Bob's appearance, which, I guess, distinguishes him as gay. Dishevelled, with too much eyeliner, fake tanner, and wearing an orange ~~man purse~~ murse with a rumpled, clashing plaid shirt and ill-fitting pants - Gay Bob doesn't even fit the stereotype of gay man = well dressed. Supposedly, he was also to help people "come out of the closet." Hell, no one even wants him to come out of the box! Epic fail.
