Exploitation. Voyeurism. Tears. There are all sorts of reasons to tune into A&E's Intervention. Maybe it's because it capitalizes on people at their lowest of lows that we cannot help but feel a twinge of guilt for tuning in again . . . and again. Its viewers are certainly a loyal bunch - some people (mostly them) would go as far as to say addicted.

Now Funny or Die has given the obsessive need to watch Intervention a name, a face, a parody. It's not the funniest thing I've seen, though I do love when his sister says, "It's the driving that worries me," as we see Saturday Night Live's Fred Armisen, the addicted, driving while watching. And it does star Elisabeth Moss, Fred's fiancee, better known as Peggy Olson on Mad Men!

"I know." - and works up to this: "If you shaved your head for V For Vendetta, did you also shave your . . ." (You get the picture!) Watch it if awkwardness doesn't offend you.

K, I thought this was getting old (what with this and this and, oh, that's it) and that Funny or Die's take on the gay-marriage storm was more deadly than funny. But then a Connecticut weatherman comes on and says "there's a cold front coming in and it's gay people," and gay people start falling from the sky, and I laughed. OK, I laughed. But, really, Internet, this is it; the storm is over.

More Commercials Need to Be Like This

Mr. Spriggs knows not only about BBQ but about advertising as well. I would totally pay attention to commercials if they were all this cool. Hire a local singer, write an awesome song, show pictures of people nonironically enjoying your product, and voila! A commercial worth watching. Almost as good as Head On, Stanley Steemers, and Mattress Discounters. You're gettin' there, Mr. Spriggs!
