"When you’re fat you stand out anyway. It’s really important to go all the way and do something fun or even outrageous with your clothes."
— Annie Maribona, founder and part owner of Fat Fancy, a boutique in Portland, OR, that sells modern and vintage clothes up to size 24.

When I think of Margaret Cho, I think of her hilarious standup act in flashes of representative scenes. There's Margaret telling everyone how weird it is to be an Asian American on an airplane with a flight attendant offering you Asian chicken salad. ("That is not the salad of my people!") There's Margaret imitating her mother's cute Korean accent and puzzling over gay men and their, uh, interest in "the ass."

This funny song is embedded in a lovely little tune reminiscent of Robyn Hitchcock. It's all about reaching a certain age and needing to get rid of clothes that you can't shouldn't wear anymore. (I know nothing about that!) Dan keeps going back to some hat he can't wear anymore.

Dear Sugar,
My boyfriend of a year and a half — I'm 23, and he's 21 — told me that he wants to break up because he doesn't want to be in a relationship right now. But he also says that he wants to be good friends. We met at work, so we see each other all the time.

I've been hoarding examples of this phenomenon forever — and I got to thinking about them last week when foxie reminded me that Wal-Mart has been named one of the lowest carbon, greening businesses — admirable, even though many still find faults with their business practices and treatment of their employees.
My mind wandered to this question: when you make a purchase, are you funding more than just a business? Are you tithing toward the bigger philosophy of the company?

Gearing up for St. Patrick's Day, Party blended up a yummy batch of homemade Baileys. Before you invite some friends and mix some up for yourself, make sure you're up to date on your lucky chatter.

Everyone loves to say that 40 is the new 30, but is that because we're living longer or because plastic surgeons keep us looking younger and younger? Either way, getting older isn't just about gaining wisdom, it's also about facing insecurities. Sure, who wouldn't want to stay 21 forever, right on the cusp of adulthood, but personally, I think Jeana on The Real Housewives of Orange County hit the nail right on the head when she said, "If you're not getting older, you're dead."
