Don't you just love Fall? It's such a cozy time of year, full of fleece coats, sipping hot cups of cider, and afternoon outings pumpkin picking. Long walks admiring the warm colored leaves and crisp air give hints that Winter holiday celebrations are on their way. If you're in a relationship, all these pleasant feelings can make you fall in love all over again.

Other seasons can have this same effect on your mood and how you feel about the people in your life. So I'm wondering if certain seasons make you more in the mood for love and intimacy than others. Do you have a favorite season that you look forward to every year that encourages feelings of love, or is it the change in seasons that inspires passion for you?

14 Things to Do When It's Chilly

When other people are wishing it were still Summer, I'm savoring the Fall air. But even though I love Fall, I admit that this in-between season can be difficult for planning ahead since there's always a possibility of rain, wind, or chills. Fortunately, I've got a list of things to do if you wake up to a gray morning when you expect sun.

Stay in bed!
Rent a few movies or download a season of a TV show you've been meaning to watch.
Clean out your closet.
Invite your friends over to play a board game and drink hot buttered rums.
Make a casserole, a roast, or one of your other favorite comfort foods.
Reread your favorite young adult book.
Do a yoga video in your living room.

Bundle up and head out for a walk.
Go to a bookstore and spend as long as you want reading the back covers.
Start a craft project that you can work on through the Winter.
Light some candles and make yourself a real cup of hot chocolate.
Try your hand at pumpkin carving. And bake the seeds for a treat!
Give yourself an at-home spa day. (Let your significant other sub in as professional masseuse.)
Get your significant other, pet, or closest friend and snuggle up under a blanket.

Study to Examine If Climate Change Makes Fall Foliage, Leaf

Now that it's officially Fall, the announcement of this new study seems prudent, timely, and worth a trip to New England. Scientists at the University of Vermont have a three-year, $45,000 grant from the Department of Agriculture to study the effects of climate change on the famous Fall foliage. It's not just a tree-hugging (or leaf-loving) move. Fall leaves, especially in the peak season of late-September to early-October, bring $364 million in tourism dollars to the state. Money, it seems, does grow on trees.

One researcher says, "It is getting warmer, and people want to know how that's going to affect this big process that's so important to us." Because decreasing day length causes chlorophyll to break down making the red shine through, scientists want to see the true effect of cold nights and warm days on the leaves - especially if the overall temperature of both rises.

As for the leaves now? "It's always great. . . it can peak in different places at the same time so you just drive around and you hit all these different pockets of the landscape, so it's always fabulous."

Childhood Fall Memories

When summer is over, and the leaves begin to change to deep reds and vibrant shades of orange, I'm reminded of my happiest memories as a kid. Fall was my absolute favorite time of year. It meant the beginning of school and seeing my classmates that I hadn't seen all summer. Even though it never got all that cold in San Francisco, it also meant I could wear my new school sweaters and fuzzy mittens.

Are You Sad That Summer is Over?

Now that it is September already (I can't believe it), summer has unfortunately come to an end and people are gearing up for school and work. I have to say it makes me a little sad. I feel like I have to say goodbye to the fun and carefree attitude I've become so accustomed to during the summer months.

Once the weather really cools off, there will be no more summer dresses, no more sandals, no more hanging out on the beach, no more BBQs, no more boating and no more swimming outside. I know I'm being a baby about it, but when you love summer so much, you can't help but feel a sense of loss and grief when fall begins to blow in.

I'm sure everyone has ways that they deal with the changing seasons. For me, I do every summery thing I can think of right now and get my fill of the last few warm days and to get excited about fall, I go shopping for new autumn clothes.

Do Tell: How Long Does It Take You to Fall in Love?

According to new research, it's usually a man who says, "I love you" first. Yes, somebody actually studied this. The researchers reasoned that in general women have a more realistic view of relationships, and are thus, less likely to get carried away early on. On average, it takes a man about seven months to fall in love, while it takes cautious women a whole eight months. If you've ever been in love, how long did it take before you knew it?

5 Gays Talk Project Runway Fall, at Least One Blames Women

From moving to the West Coast, to the influx of celebrity judges, to casting drama over talent, five gay men have offered their theories on why viewership of Project Runway fell 25 percent between the premiere of season six and its ninth episode. One faults having three female finalists (though that happened on Bravo's final season too) saying:

"I am all for diversity and playing to your audience’s demographic, but please. And not to sound completely misogynistic, but three women as finalists? No fags? Really? These women were probably the most talented, but obviously when you tell the Bunim/Murray casting juggernaut, 'This is Lifetime: Television for Women, not talented gay male fashion designers,' you get what you get!"

While he jests (mostly), women probably miss the Christian Sirianos who sharpen their tongues before even threading a needle each morning just as much as gay men do. But what do I know? I only watched the first three episodes.
