Just like all babies, baby Samudra, the 5-month-old elephant at the Oregon Zoo, likes to play. In this video, she's just hanging around with mom until someone throws her a blue ball. And off she goes!
I know just how this little guy feels. Sometimes, especially after a big meal, you just have to take a big nap, no matter where you are. Sleep tight!
Keeping elephants in zoos is controversial. Some people say they shouldn't be in captivity, others say allowing people to see endangered animals makes them care about their continued survival. I don't know enough about it to say, but I do know that it's touching to see this tiny (by elephant standards!) baby elephant finally bonding with his mother, Rose-Tu (who had been a little rough with him at the beginning).
Not to be confused with "Touched By An Angel." The moral of this Rolo commercial? Don't mess with elephants.
Cute doesn't only come in tiny packages! This baby elephant certainly has the "cute" factor working for him, but he also knows how to shake his groove thang while playing a harmonica. He ain't no Dumbo- he's a triple threat.
Meet Tara. She lives in an animal sanctuary in Tennessee. Normally, she'd find another elephant as a BFF.
When it's your time of the month and your beached and bloated, do you want someone poking at your blubber? Well, neither does a giant elephant seal. This brave lady has no idea what she's got coming.
Please, for the sake of your vehicle, don't park in the giant elephant seal zone because this particular parking attendant gives citations in the form of car crushing belly blows. One small step for public transportation, one giant leap (or slam?) for seal-kind.
Thanks, Web Junk TV!
