Dear Sugar,

My boyfriend has ED (erectile dysfunction) and it's absolutely driving me crazy. I don't even want to have sex with him because it's very disappointing. He doesn't give me the satisfaction I desire and we are limited in sexual positions. He has tried Cialis and it's totally awesome when he's on it, but it's so expensive that we can't afford it. He's even tried ordering different vitamins and natural pills online, but they do nothing. I can't deal with this! I love him to death but the sex sucks!

Sex is definitely an important part of a relationship and I don't blame you for feeling frustrated. I think it's important to talk as openly as you can with your boyfriend. Since he's probably feeling really self-conscious about his ED, try to be as understanding as possible. Tell him how much you love him and how you want to deal with this as a couple, and reiterate that it's not just his problem. Be honest and let him know that your sexual needs aren't being met, and remind him that intercourse is just one way to share intimacy. You can still experience pleasure without him having an erection, so take the focus off what's in his pants and spend more time on foreplay. He can use his hands, his mouth, even a vibrator to help you have an orgasm. Pleasuring you will hopefully take his mind off the negative thoughts I'm sure he must be having about sex.

You may also want to encourage him to visit his doctor again. Perhaps there are other medications he can take that are less expensive. If you still hit serious road blocks, you have two options - you can be fed up with not being satisfied and leave him or you can stay in this relationship and learn to accept that he can't pleasure you sexually (and you may have to rely on pleasuring yourself). Only you can make that decision. I know in a perfect world, you'd want to have both love and pleasure, but you may have to decide which one will make you the happiest. Good luck, Emily.

Sometimes a man's fashion sense can get in the way of his natural sexiness. And apparently, bad fashion can also cause violence. Last week we heard that a popular nightclub in Australia banned certain clothing (think Ed Hardy tops and popped collars) because that style of dress was causing bar fights. A popular nightclub in Australia has decided to ban "metrosexuals" in an attempt to curb violence. Apparently a certain style of dress is enough to start a bar fight.

On the list of forbidden clothing items you will find low-cut v-neck t-shirts, skinny jeans, pointy white shoes, popped collars, and Ed Hardy tops. I think many of us would be happy to go to a bar with this type of restrictive dress code.

When trying out fashion trends, men can come off as trying a little too hard. The power jeans trend - the tendency to pair expensive-looking jeans with a blazer for an "I'm hip!" vibe - is another example. Which male fashion fad would you like to ban?

What's Next For Abstinence-Only Sex-Ed Programs?

When Obama decided not to renew the Title V grant program that funds abstinence-only sex education programs in his 2010 budget, places like McLennan County in Texas found their coffers, already depleted when their $800,000 grant ran out in 2007, dwindle from $1 million to zero.

Since 1997, $1.9 billion in government funding ($1.5 billion of it federal money) has gone to abstinence-only education, turning it into an industry unto itself. Although the Senate Finance Committee voted to restore the funding 12-11 last month, the measure needs to pass the full Congress, which is unlikely. At this point, it looks like private donors will have to cough up the funding if these programs want to survive.

Abstinence ed flourished in the late '90s and early 2000s and federal funding doubled from $80 million in 2001 to $200 million during the Bush years in spite of research that showed sexual behavior didn't change among those who had received the education.

So what's the future of abstinence-only education? Its advocates like Director Tracy Cousins of the McLennan County Collaborative Abstinence Program (MCCAP) in Texas considered tweaking their programs in order to get some funding. But they decided in the end that showing students, for example, how to put a condom on compromised their message of abstinence only. "We believe," says Tracy Cousins,"the best approach [for students] is they should not engage in sexual activity."

News to Me: Detailed Sex Ed Reduces Teen Pregnancies

Now that sex ed is pretty common in most high schools, a recent study is showing that talking about sex and birth control options is actually working!

Out of the 1,700 unmarried, heterosexual teens between 15- and 19-years-old that participated in this study, about two-thirds of them had been through comprehensive sex ed programs (which included learning about sex, birth control methods, and STIs). One-quarter were taught "abstinence only," and 10 percent received no formal sex ed. This study found that 60 percent of the teens who had received extensive sex ed were less likely to have become pregnant or get someone else pregnant. This study also showed that thorough sex education was much more effective at preventing teen pregnancies compared to sex ed programs, which taught teens to just say no to sex.

This is great news for people who may think talking about sex will make teens want to go out and do it. Kids are going to be having sex whether you talk about it or not, so we as adults have the responsibility to educate kids about how to protect themselves against STIs and prevent unwanted pregnancies.

Eco-Turf War Erupts Between Ed Begley & the Science Guy

The Green Movement may have just gotten nasty. Science Guy, Billy Nye and actor Ed Begley, Jr. are engaging in an “keeping up with the Jones’ eco race”. Though the tale of the neighborhood war calls them sort of unflatteringly, "moderately famous," Hey, Ed Begley was great in HBO's Recount) now the battle for the planet taken center stage on their block.

According to a neighbor who lives between the two TV personalities (poor 83-year-old Frema Rood) the competition started the minute Bill Nye moved into the neighborhood announcing his intentions to “...best Ed Begley at his own game.”

Since then the two have been trying to out-solar panel one another - in a race which appears to be favoring Nye. The Science Guy’s panels have a few newer features like a system that displays when he’s creating more power than he’s using. Rub it in, much?

For those of you who haven’t seen Living with Ed, the HGTV show featuring the trials and triumphs of living an almost completely eco-friendly life, Begley does things like use beer as an insecticide and has installed a weather monitoring sprinkler system which actually checks the forecast to shut down on rainy days. That's more accurate than the weather guy, I imagine.

But Nye is no slouch either - in fact, he is gaining points in sheer good looks. Nye has used recycled plastic lumber to build a patio cover and has copper rain gutters which Begley has coveted openly. Begley's eco-dump has wires sticking out of his appliances, bricks piled high around the yard and, the most damning eyesore, red rain barrels that stand out from his house’s white façade. The actor claim's he's working on solving this problem with an underground cistern to store water, a move he says has Nye already green with envy.
