No surprise here. Donald played this one smartly, letting her hang herself with numerous other contract violations rather than make a controversial firing earlier so she could play martyr over the nude photos and gay marriage issue. Fox news will probably be clamoring to give her a job now.

Didn't know about the nude photos... Didn't Vanessa Williams lose her Miss America crown over something similar?

While I don't agree with her comments about marriage, I think the nude pics and missing pagent events is more than enough to strip her of her crown. Not to mention the whole overshadowing the winner/throwing a hissy fit thing...

Hopefully this will be the last we hear of her before her sex tape/porn movie inevitably comes out in a couple years after everyone has forgotten about her.

Obviously, Prejean did not value being Miss California, so good riddance. Let the crown go to someone who wants it (and who would make a better Miss California). Personally, I'm glad she's dethroned. She's a diplomatic disgrace (in clarification, I think it's okay for her to have her personal beliefs, but she was disrespectful and smug about it. As a self-described Christian, she was un-Christlike. JMHO).

i don't think nude photos should be a big deal anyway, but then i'm not in charge of pageants so whatever. i think she should have been dethroned over her position on same sex marriage, but this is fine considering that the end result is the same.

the only reason that all these investigations occurred was because at the USA pageant Perez Hilton asked her a question and bc hollywood disagreed with the answer suddenly everyone needed to attack and find a reason to get her kicked out. it is unfair and horrible because suddenly the world is saying that you can only have one kind of opinion and not be able to state your true beliefs. at least she was honest and said what she felt, i feel like lying to win a crown would be worse. it's a shame.

i'm so over beauty pageants. the women have to not only look a certain way, they can only have certain opinions and they are talked about as if they are idiots. how is this the "ideal" we have for our young woman? insulting and out dated, so no, i don't care.

What "IS" exactly the point of pageants anymore. They are so superficial and ridiculous - cas in point. Don't we have more pertinent things ton concern ourselves about?! This scare me....

i think her answer to the perez hilton question was fine. that is her own personal belief. ick! i don't agree with her, but she didnt actually say anything that was "wrong"... she just answered it the way she truly felt. However, i don't get why this girl was pardoned from being stripped of her title when she clearly violated her contract by posing nude and not showing up to events that she was contractually obligated to do. i'm glad she is finally gone now. i dont know what took trump so long...he gets weak in the knees when he sees a pretty girl, he's an idiot...he should have fired her a long time ago.

OH MY GOD this is not about gay marriage, this is about contract violations. Yes, she deserved to be decrowned, and no, it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that you disagree with her beliefs. Persecuting her for not agreeing with you is not going to do anything except fuel the fire and incite more bloggers and reporters to talk about it even though it's clear that the majority of us think it's cr*p.

So get over it, she's not the only one with that viewpoint, and there's not a whole lot that whining about it in a blog is going to do.

@itsme3683- discussing that you have a problem with a viewpoint that's actually been put into action to deny people their civil rights isn't whining. it's discussing that you have a problem with it. thats why this topic put forth and that's why there's a comments section; so people can communicate their thoughts on this particular issue.

I did hear awhile back that she's been not showing up for her obligations (under contracts) under her title. Therefore, she totally deserves to get canned.

I hadn't seen any photos of her until now. She's really ugly. And she seemed pretty stupid to boot. Did she dance really well or something? What gives? I'm embarrassed that she's the best my home state had to offer.

She'll make more money now that the mess is behind her. I would hate dealing w/ Trump. They way they let her go was tacky. I'm not making excuses for her but you know it had to be difficult to get on the right footing after that fiasco. I would have never gone back & accepted the crown if I were her. I care because I'm a native of California and she was a representative of our state but didn't represent a lot of peoples politics here. I'm surprised, but happy to hear about the decision to dethrone her. Hopefully the Miss California runner up will be less of an idiot.

I forget - Didn't she say something about Satan making "bad" people gay? When Trump went on TV & said she could keep her crown... How she must have felt validated & LOVED SO MUCH by God!

I mean, think about it - Ther's a time & a place to talk about things like that. The same thing can be said for Awards shows like the GG's, Oscars, BAFTA's... I know I DON'T want my time wasted by talk NOT related to the MOVIE I'm winning for. The acceptance speeches are LONG enough without politics, religion or "love you's" to spouses, bf's/gf's who have NOTHING to do with the movie the winner "wins" for.

I care. Because she was punished for her statement that "she believed" marriage is between a man and woman. Her opinion made her a target, and whether people agreed or disagreed with her shouldn't matter.

She wasn't fired because of her beliefs (I mean, come on they still let her keep the crown. I don't agree with her but she is entitled to her own opinion as I am to mine), she was fired because she violated most of the terms of her contracts! People, let's not confuse the two reasons.
She never showed up to the events she HAD to, she did interviews she WASN'T supposed to do, she and more. She just didn't follow the rules.

And to be fair, even if she was 100% all for gay marriage, I would still think she was a) stupid because her answer would still make no sense (come on people, "opposite marriage"?!?!?) and b) if she still didn't follow the rules of the contest then I would STILL be saying kick her out.

I'm a gay man who supported her honesty to begin with in the pageant. However after her explanation of the photo shoot situation I suddenly smelled b.s. that was neck high so at that point she lost my support to keep her job. I however find it very interesting that the reasons for her firing are so vague. They say she missed a number of appearances but never named any by name. Either way she's a little twisted they're a little shaddy and in the end they were made for each other.

I think she deserved to lose the crown. She hung herself by not honoring her contract.
The Miss Cali association ALSO lost one of their main producers (Shanna Moakler) when Carrie was allowed to keep her crown after the topless photos, because her contract was amended, so that would have been another blow to the association.

But now that it's all over and done with, does it really need to clog up my BBC news feed?

No one would care about this dethroning if her opinion hadn't rocketed her into the spotlight already.

I don't know who won because she's all anybody ever hears about. She is really not worth all the attention she has been getting.
