Back with some epic Star Wars cuteness for the second year in a row, Volkswagen released a preview of its Super Bowl ad a few weeks early. This time the action comes from a pack of pups instead of a tiny Darth Vader, but the spot is still deeply connected to the dark side. Or should I say bark side? 'Tis the season to put others ahead of your own wants and needs, but this Star Wars Breakfast Beverage Set ($30) is the perfect gift to give yourself this Winter. Keep warm in the cold morning air with this trio of Vader's Dark Side Roast, Hoth Chocolate (my fave), and Yoda Dagobah Green Tea, each packed in a tin can for freshness, which can then be reused for a variety of other things - as a pencil cup, cord holder, change jar, whatever.

Of course, you could share the love with friends and family on Christmas morning since there's enough to go around: 12 ounces of coffee, four to five cups of hot chocolate, and enough for 14 cups of green tea. Just a suggestion.

We always knew Darth Vader had some tricks up his sleeve, but morphing into a hot air balloon is a rather whimsical diversion for the Dark Lord. Taken at this year's annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the photo is a peek at an almost sweet-looking Darth as he hovers high above the American West.

Hair like Chewbacca requires the most powerful of beauty supplies, perhaps even tools backed with The Force. A Star Wars style maven's dreams come true thanks to Russian industrial designer Tembolat Gugkaev's Darth Vader blow dryer. Who knew the clean lines of the empire leader's face mask could translate so easily to modern home design?

Unfortunately for us, the hair dryer is just a concept design for now, but we'll be first in line should production ever begin on this piece of functional, yet beautiful film memorabilia. Now if someone could design some equally simple science fiction-inspired tools for the kitchen, our geeky home would be complete.

VW Darth Vader Gets Unmasked, Kinda Looks Like Mark Hamill

The Volkswagen ad called The Force was far and away my favorite spot from this weekend's Super Bowl. While I was hoping that little Darth would be a girl (there's a pink room!), the actor that played Darth Vader in the ad was unmasked earlier today on The Today Show in NYC.

Not only is 6-year-old Max Page totally adorable, but he's got a story, too: at just 3 months old, he had his first open heart surgery due to a heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. While Max has never actually seen Star Wars for himself (it's too scary), he does slightly resemble the original trilogy's star, Mark Hamill, don't you think?

Volkswagen Teams Up With Star Wars to Produce Cute Overload

Sure, the Super Bowl is fun (especially if you're fully prepared), but what keeps me entertained between plays are the commercials.

We saw a ton of Star Wars-themed ads for the 2010 World Cup, but Volkswagen's spot - starring an adorable pint-size Darth Vader - may take the crown for the cutest Super Bowl ad ever.

CES Celebs By the Numbers

There were plenty of celebrities in attendance at CES - from Olivia Wilde to Rick Fox and Eliza Dushku - but who was the most tweet-tastic of them all? According to info from Webtrends, Lady Gaga came out on top. With her high-concept video glasses, retro-styled instant camera, and printer she debuted with Polaroid, the Internet was all a-buzz over Gaga.

Taking second and third place is Darth Vader (thanks in part to the Star Wars on Blu-ray announcement), followed by 50 Cent, who introduced his own line Sleek Audio headphones.

Join the Dark Side With the Vader Project

While there's never a shortage of Star Wars inspired art, The Vader Project kinda hangs in a class of its own. DKE Toys launched the project over four years ago, commissioning 100 of the world's most notable street artists - like Tokidoki, Paul Frank, Frank Kozik, and Dalek - to reinterpret Darth's iconic black helmet. The results are humorous, smart, but mostly just plain out of the ordinary.

For the first time ever, these helmets are going to be made available for purchase (via auction) with bidding on most starting at $1,500. If you don't have that kind of dough to spend, there are two last chances to see the collection as a whole: this month during the Los Angeles Preview Exhibition, and at Freeman's Auction House in July. And for the rest of us? Well, there's always the Vader Project catalog ($40).
