Oh, man. I remember when we posted Kermit singing "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails. It instantly killed a part of my childhood. Well, now we have Kermit singing an equally depressing song from Radiohead - their classic "Creep." He wishes he were f•ucking special. You are f•ckin special, Kermit, you are! (Make sure you watch until you get to the end when Fozzie Bear chimes in! Ha!)

Most people I know get creeped out by the idea of their parents having sex (you probably thought "eeeeew" after reading that sentence). But some of the more freewheeling parents out there don't bother hiding their sexuality from their children.

Earlier this week on the Real Housewives of New Jersey, single mom Danielle spoke candidly about her love life with her young daughters. The girls informed their mother that her much younger boyfriend was just using her for her "goodies." Danielle told her girls she hopes they'll save their goodies for their husbands, since she doesn't want them to go through the same thing she has.

Some parents go even further than just talking about their sex lives with their children. In an interview this week, actor Shia LaBeouf says his sense of humor came from "seeing my parents have sex, smoke weed, my mom being naked."

Did you have parents like that, or did your parents lead you to believe they were asexual?

Awkward! A Married Man Asked Me Out on a Date

I've heard variations on this one - the attached guy who gets your phone number and then says he just wants to hang out, as he lets slip he has a girlfriend. The guy who shamelessly flirts while his girlfriend's back is turned. And then there was my case - the married guy who acted single as hell before eventually asking me out for brunch. (Brunch?!)

I had met him at a cocktail party for media people. He was funny, cute, and flirting, so I assumed - single. We exchanged cards, emailed a few times, and then I received an invitation for Sunday brunch. The whole time I had an odd question running through my head: is this a date? (Beware that question, especially if you are on a date. It's your gut telling you something is wrong.)

After we chitchatted, he asked if I wanted to take a walk. It was then that he casually mentioned his wife! (Where was she, I was wondering - would she approve?) I felt creeped out by the whole affair and excused myself to do my laundry. Have you ever been asked out by a man you found out later was attached? How did you react?

Saying "Ladies" - Yay or Nay?

I love Demetri Martin's bit about how adding the word "ladies" to the end of a sentence automatically makes you sound like a creep. I admit, the word "ladies" often makes me cringe, though some of my guy friends seem to think it's classy. I guess it's better than referring to a group of women as "girls" or "my b*tches!" . . . but still. What say you?

Shopping Sprees Linked to Periods

Good news, ladies! Now in addition to being able to blame sudden crying jags, overeating, and homicidal tendencies to PMS, we get to add compulsive shopping, too! (Sweet!) A recent study in England followed about 150 women along their monthly cycles. They found that in the "luteal phase" (why does that term give me the creeps?) women attempted to regulate intense mood swings due to hormonal changes by overspending, particularly on feminine "ornaments" like makeup, high heels, and jewelry. My favorite part of the study is the conclusion: women should avoid shopping the week before their period. Duh! Click here to read more.

Where Do You Stand? Overusing Pet Names

Run of the mill pet names like babe, honey, or gorgeous are really sweet when they come from the love in your life, but since they are such standard terms of endearment, it's easy to use them with your friends, too.

For example, when a girlfriend of mine was dating her now-ex-boyfriend, he would always refer to her as sweetie, but he referred to her friends as sweetie too! To be honest it creeped me out a bit - if I were her I'd want that nickname to remain sacred between us - but tell me where you stand on the idea of reusing pet names with platonic friends.
