Holy crap. Four hours north of LA exists a cat heaven called Cat House on the Kings. Run by a non-crazy cat lady who is crazy for cats, Cat House on the Kings is a non-profit, no-kill, no cage shelter for cats (and a few dogs) to roam free (inside and outside). They're up for adoption, but if no one does so they're free to hang out forever. And what animal wouldn't want to stay there? The wonderful Lynea Lattanzio has been trained as a vet, has ten feeding stations inside and outside, and just freaking loves animals. The guy who put this vid together says she's not a hoarder, or a proverbial CCL, she's just dedicated her life to animals. 16,000 cats and dogs can't be wrong!

Some loony tune kitty lover had enough sense to know that there are two types of people in this world: those of us who have "real" babies and those of us who treat our cats as if they were "real" babies. What's Up With the Susan Boyle Obsession?

The gifted Susan Boyle came into our lives thanks to Simon Cowell and YouTube. The unconventional star of Britain's Got Talent made us overlook her gray hair and dowdy clothes with her beautiful voice. Everyone seemed genuinely impressed with her talents and a little intrigued by her unlikely appearance.

But now that we've made Susan a star, it's time to bring her down. After losing the talent show, Susan's suffered a breakdown! And she's off to rehab. (For exhaustion?)

The recent stories about Susan don't praise her voice; instead they mock her personal life. Today, there's a story out about how Susan cried out for her cat, "flapping her arms like a confused child" and apparently screaming "Where's Pebbles?" OK, we get it. Susan is 48 and not married. She's a crazy cat lady.

Do you think Susan's vocal talents can propel her to a successful career based on her music, or will the public treat her as some sort of freak?

Cute Alert: The Calico Cat Cafe in Tokyo

Who needs strippers, lap dances, or the company of pretty women (or men) at hostess/host bars when you can crawl around a café on all fours petting cute cats? The Calico Cat Café in Tokyo allows you to do just that. For a mere nine dollars an hour, you can come in and have tea and a little feline company. There are rules, of course. Kids who are younger than fifth graders aren't allowed in. You can't touch a cat if it doesn't want you to (just like a strip joint!). You can't wake sleeping cats, and you can only feed them what the café supplies. Whoever decides to open one of these in the United States is going to make a killing - and I will be the first crazy cat lady in line with crisp bills in my hand.

Cat Acts Like a Dog

Cats must have gotten the memo that - except among a subset of folks called (unfairly, if you asked me) "crazy cat ladies" - they've got a pretty bad reputation. It seems that some of the feline persuasion are doing damage control. Kitty PR, if you will. They're sending out cat ambassadors who do things like follow instructions, enjoy water, and fetch. Good job, guys! (I secretly prefer the inscrutable, lazy and indifferent versions but that's why I'm a CCL.)
