Devon Traboscia, a 42-year-old single mom of two, thought she'd multitask by auctioning off her house and herself as a package deal on eBay and Craigslist. Devon's itching to get married and her four-bedroom Florida home is, apparently, the best thing she has to offer. Intellect? Humor? Charm? Nah. For this real estate agent, square footage sells. Although Devon claims to be "doing it for the real reasons, the right reasons," I'm not sure there's ever any reason to hit up eBay for love - that is, unless this winner is her kind of Prince Charming. In addition to being charming and funny, the Scotsman-turned-denizen of LA and host of The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson can add memoirist to his list of accomplishments - he has a new book out called American on Purpose.

In a USA Today interview, he discusses some of the book's many revelations, including how he dropped out of school at 16 to join a punk band and that one of his favorite jobs was working as a construction worker. I love that Craig can make cornball humor seem edgy. Does he do it for you? What do you think about the salt 'n' pepper fox?

Gays With Guns Target Families in Anti-Gay-Marriage Ad

At nearly six minutes, this made-for-Internet ad is inciting the blogosphere with every click. Fifty-eight seconds in, you'll find the target of outrage: A family sitting on a porch blowing bubbles at each other (because that's what families do?) is seen through the lens of a sniper. Overhead an announcer says the following:

Marriage between man and woman is held up as the ideal in all of civilized society because of its profound stabilizing influence on our culture as well as the economic benefits of strong and in-tact families. But today that ideal is under an unrelenting attack. . . . Outside forces are working tirelessly to redefine marriage away from God's design to favor the desires of adults over the needs of children for the naturally balanced model of a mother and a father

The ad is on a site called wv4marriage.com, which ironically looks like a Craig's List solicitation at first glance. It appears to be paid for by CampaignSecrets.com, a Georgia firm that describes itself as "focused exclusively on electing Republicans to local office." The president of West Virginia's Family Policy Council said the council used the Georgia firm for its affordable rates, which is a relief because if you watch the ad you'll see it certainly couldn't be for its camera work!

Aide Says Obama Burdened With Supporters' Unrealistic Hopes

Is the hope of Obama supporters, entirely too audacious? Perhaps so, according to one of Obama's own senior aides. In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph in the midst of Obama's big trip abroad, it appears like that famous hope has become a burden wrapped in unrealistic expectations of what Obama can actually achieve if he becomes president.

Greg Craig, one of Obama's top foreign policy advisers with him on the trip said that Obama is well aware of the burden of hope:

He is very conscious of it. He knows he has become a vehicle for peoples' hopes and dreams and expectations and we all fear that such expectations tend to be unrealistic.

In his trip that includes a swing through Europe, Obama is expected to meet with Gordon Brown to encourage the UK to proceed with planned troop cuts in Iraq next year to free them up to redeploy in Afghanistan.

A German magazine, Der Spiegel reported that Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki had:

Supported prospective US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's proposal that US troops should leave Iraq within 16 months . . . US presidential candidate Barack Obama talks about 16 months. That, we think, would be the right timeframe for a withdrawal, with the possibility of slight changes.

Everyone all the way up to the White House believed this notion - going so far as to accidentally send out the news to a huge distribution list (always check before hitting "Send," folks.)

Making the email oops worse, it turns out that the whole Maliki quote, was actually a huge misunderstanding. Der Spiegel it seems mistranslated. Maliki's spokesman said that statements by Maliki or any other member of the government should not be seen as support for any US presidential candidate.

Are Obama supporters placing unrealistic expectations on what the reality of Obama can actually do? Will there come a point when they find out they've been way too audacious?

Poor scandal-plagued Larry Craig ranked second from the bottom. His troubles may have hampered his reputation, but it hasn't stopped him from looking for an intern.

Here Comes the White House Correspondents Dinner!

Oh, man this has to be the hottest ticket in town. The special dinner where the press gets to roast the president? Especially one whose approval rating hit 28 percent today and it's his last year in office!? I'm dying, dying to go.

The whole tradition of the dinner started in 1924, when Calvin Coolidge became the first of 14 presidents to attend. Up until World War II, the dinner was an entertainment spectacle with singing between courses, a homemade movie (aw! how cute is that?!), and an hour-long, post dinner show with big-name performers.

This year is no exception. I suppose? Though the list this year doesn't feature Sinatra, (or Paula Jones and Matt Drudge like in this pic from 1998). Ben Affleck, Pamela Anderson, Eric Dane, Tim Daly, Hayden Panettiere, and Marcia Cross will all be there - and kind of inexplicably - Lauren Conrad from The Hills. Maybe LC and GWB are BFFs? Could happen.

The host this year is Scottish-born, now US citizen Craig Ferguson, who said of receiving the honor,

But I thought as soon as I become an American you know what is going to happen, I am going to get jury duty or the CIA. will get in touch and have me assassinate a foreign head of state. Anyway my first job as an American citizen I can exclusively reveal tonight is performing at the White House Correspondents Dinner weekend. I am doing it. I am doing it. I know! Anyway, I am not hosting it. President Bush is . . . I am thinking does he know I can't be kicked out now? Like it would be the
big thing have the dinner and my last act at president, you go home Ferguson. I am like I am home.

Finding the perfect apartment can seem like an impossibility, but in reality, it just takes time and dedication. If you're like so many people I know right now, in the thick of the housing search, see some of the tips I have for you to help this process be as pain free as possible.

If you don't have the time to do this kind of a search by yourself, sign up with a local rental company who specializes in finding the apartment that meets your criteria for you. They will alert you when apartments become available so you don't have to constantly be on the look out
If you're like me and you want to see anything and everything, constantly check sites like Craig's List or read your local want ads for new rental availabilities
Since most people use their weekends to drive around and look for For Rent signs, be the early bird that catches the worm and take a spin around your ideal neighborhood before or after work during the week to look for available apartments
Make as many phone calls and make as many appointments as you can. Oftentimes landlords and property managers are not able to convey the right message about the apartment in the space allotted so it's important to see the apartments with your own eyes
Figure out what's important to you in an apartment. Is it having a laundry room, a walk in closet, a bathtub, a dishwasher, a disposal, having a parking spot, a view, or is the location the most important thing you are looking for? Oftentimes, an apartment won't have everything, so prioritize your needs
Finding the perfect apartment can be close to impossible, but finding the almost perfect apartment can be done so keep your expectations reasonable
