Finally! The truth about our beloved ass-kicking American ninja extraordinaire, Chuck Norris, otherwise known as "the world's greatest human." (I find it hard to believe, though, that The Truth About Chuck Norris was on the New York Times best-seller list. Although I guess stranger things have happened. Like, say, the success of The Hills or Paris Hilton.)

They may not look exactly alike, but Chuck Norris and Danny Bonaduce could pass as fraternal twins. Stretch Danny's face down a little, so all the features are elongated, and the resemblance is uncanny! (Or perhaps the air of desperation surrounding each looks identical?)

What Is Your Favorite Campaign Ad of 2008?

Now that the election season is over, we can look back on those campaign ads that invaded our living rooms nonstop and determine which one we like best!

From a simple YouTube video comparing Barack Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears to a 30-minute primetime infomercial, the candidate sales pitches came in all shapes and sizes. Mike Huckabee even teamed up with Chuck Norris to make an ad full of Chuck Norris jokes, and Paris Hilton herself hit the campaign airwaves with a video announcing her candidacy.

This year has been especially thrilling for fans of politics and news, so I can't wait to find out what you loved most about 2008!

Interactive Info on Ads: Who Spent How Much & Where

We've been soaking in a bathtub full of political ads for so long, my fingers are beyond pruney. Though there's great talk of who has how much money to spend on making the suckers, it's not until you can see the true data behind of the ad campaigns compared side by side that you can get a real fix on it.

Ever the masters of the interactive graphic, the Times has maps that let you pit the groups with money side by side to see how much was spent, and where ads were bought. The McCain vs. Obama number is interesting ($90,415,962 to broadcast 57 television ads compared to Obama's $145,064,338 to broadcast 86 television ads) but I was most struck by the DNC vs. RNC as shown in the maps above: $436,015 to $10,080,774. That's a discrepancy. Most of the RNC dough as you can see is pretty geographically targeted.

The feature lets you search by issue as well. For instance, a total of $1,356,628 was spent to broadcast five ads related to the presidential campaign on the issue. For comparison? My pal T. Boone Pickens spent $24,026,256 to broadcast nine ads.

It all makes me remember a wackier time in political ads, when Hillary wrapped up some Christmassy goodness, and Bill Richardson gave a pretty stellar and funny job interview, and who can forget - "my plan to secure the border? Two words: Chuck. Norris.

Do Celebs Influence Your Politics?

We're not the only ones with vote fever today! Even Diddy is out spreading his political message. Celebs from Robert DeNiro to Garrison Keillor are also declaring their support for candidates this week. And of course who can forget Oprah for Obama, Chuck Norris for Huckabee, and Stallone for McCain? But here's the question: Does the opinion of the famous influence your vote?

Interestingly, according to a recent survey in US Weekly, 90 percent of respondents said "no!" All of the Oprahs and Chuck Norrises in the world don't matter a lick once the voting booth curtain is closed. What about you?

Where Are All the Republicans?

Think Hollywood is just a proverbial hotbed of liberals? Not according to actress Angie Harmon who declares proudly, "I'm Voting For John McCain!"

In this week's Us Weekly the former Law & Order McCain supporter said,

There are a lot more people in LA voting for McCain than you think. We have an underground Republican Party!”

Who's invited to that party? Spurious lists of Hollywood conservatives abound, but not including obvious conservatives like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Chuck Norris, rumor has it Jessica Simpson, James Woods, and Tony Danza all make the invite cut. And that friends, is the first time those names have ever appeared in the same sentence!

Poll: Would You Watch Mike Huckabee on TV?

Based on his almost impossible chances of winning the nomination, it seems like Mike Huckabee is running for something other than president. Maybe the VP spot, maybe to push John McCain a bit more toward the right, maybe because he's having so much fun playing his bass guitar and running around the country with Chuck Norris.

All this got me wondering - would Mike Huckabee drop out if he were offered a cable television show? Think about it. He would have a perfect platform to spread his message and wield influence. And he could continue to enjoy the spotlight. Other expoliticians do quite nicely on TV. I love watching Morning Joe with former Congressman Joe Scarborough. And Huck seems to ham it up whenever he's on The Colbert Report.

Would you watch easygoing, squirrel-eating Mike Huckabee on TV? What should he call the show?
