How cute would it be to have a cat boyfriend? Okay, a little weird, too, but let's play along. Bjork and Spike Jonze, the director of this video for "Triumph of the Heart" from her album Medulla, create a video fantasy involving just that scenario. Bjork gets sick of her cat boyfriend and decides to paint the town red without him. She eventually returns to his furry arms, and they both live happily ever after! (She really falls during the making of the vid and decided to keep the blood and scrapes uncovered on her face.) Bjork is such a nutter ~~but~~ and I love her! (Thanks for the send, BellaSugar!)

In 2001, Bjork was up for an Oscar for her dark role in Dancer in the Dark. You'd think she was nominated for a comedy role in this getup. Love your music, Bjork, usually love your style, but even the dead swan looks like he's trying to hide his head in shame.

Cat on a Unicorn? Yes, Please!

This is one of the cutest videos I've ever seen. (Besides Bjork's vid for "Triumph of the Heart"). The band Casiotone for the Painfully Alone has a charming little song called "White Corolla." In addition to a boppy tune and great lyrics, the video features beautiful animation by Julia Pott and Robin Bushell of cats, pandas, dogs, and unicorns. What more could you ask for, people? (I am so looking for a Casio keyboard this weekend!)

I thought the soundtrack to this was Bjork, until I read the YouTube commentary. I feel so sorry for this interviewer, who has been saddled with interviewing the most monosyllabic band ever. (And that's describing the one or two people who bothered to utter a word!) At first I thought it might be a language thing, but no...no. These dudes simply do not want to speak. Maybe fellow Icelander Bjork sucked all the interesting out of this country, leaving the rest of her countrymen with the personality of zombies. (Thanks, eBaum's World.)
