The Bachelorette Finale: Are You Happy With Ashley's Decision?

Ashley Hebert has made her pick! Last night's finale of The Bachelorette had Ashley choosing between Ben Flajnik, a winemaker from northern California, and J.P. Rosenbaum, a construction manager from NY. When faced with two proposals, Ashley went with J.P. even after her sister met both and clearly favored Ben.

In the big moment, Ben got on one knee and said to Ashley, "Every second I spend with you makes me fall deeper in love with you. I want to thank you for allowing me to feel completely and utterly vulnerable and open with you," but it wasn't enough to win her heart. When it was J.P.'s turn he told Ashley that she is the one before popping the question. She was quick to accept the proposal in the gorgeous Fiji setting. Of her now-fiancé, Ashley said, "Today is the reason why I went through all the good times and the bad times, and I've been wanting to tell you how much I loved you for so long now. You mean the world to me and I do not want to be with anyone else forever." So tell us - are you happy with Ashley's decision or do you wish she had gone with Ben?

Ask a Savvy Bride: I Can't Afford the Bachelorette Party

I am being asked to participate in my sister-in-law-to-be's bachelorette party. Her maid of honor has planned the entire night which has a price tag at this point of over $200 for the night plus paying for the bride. I was not invited to participate in the wedding at all so I am a guest at my only sibling's wedding. Is there a way that I can just say no? I don't want to participate and I do not have the funds to pay over $200 in one night. What is a legitimate, polite way to say that I won't be coming?

If you think splitting a dinner bill with a large group can be difficult, multiply that frustration by a million when trying to collect funds for a bachelorette weekend. Even if everyone involved says they want to give the bride the most memorable weekend possible, it's likely that some of those attending will have different ideas about how much money it takes to make that happen. So if you're planning a bachelorette party for a friend - or someone is planning one for you! - ditch the clichéd trip to Vegas and plan a truly memorable event that will allow for plenty of QT.

Head to the beach: For a party that's all about location, location, location, take things beachside. What better venue for relaxing, working on your prewedding tan, and knocking back a cocktail or two than a warm, sandy beach? If you can round up enough girlfriends, forgo the often-skeevy beach motels and rent a house near the sand instead. Need more inspiration? Take a cue from this community member.
