- Scotland Yard has confirmed that Benazir Bhutto, the Pakistani opposition leader assassinated in December, was killed by the force of hitting her head as a result of a suicide blast, not the assassin's bullet. These findings support the Pakistani government's theory on the death of Bhutto. The findings were determined without autopsy results or an investigation of the scene, and also point to a lone gunman as opposed to the two seen in news photos of the scene.
