This is the best compilation of news anchor bloopers I've seen. It includes two of my fave on-air gaffes: when poor Ken Bastida's run-on sentence sentences his vacationing co-worker to death, and when a mountain climber is given props in spite of the fact that . .

What begins as an incredibly dull news report about elevator repairs ends in an awkward on-air pissing contest between the news anchor and a correspondent who apparently used to be the anchor's boss. The tension begins to rise about 55 seconds in and escalates from there, with the irritated anchor delivering a stern lecture: "Well, if I have to teach you how to be a reporter, Ollie, I'll do that later." I love how they maintain a polite news tone even while hurling insults.

I'm not sure who this guy is who told told a Fox News anchor that his program was just a "festival of ignorance," but he sure did shut the anchor up. Nothing says "I have no retort to your insult" like, "We're also talking about Captain Kirk this morning!" When in doubt, divert, divert, divert.

These news anchors are real good at multi-tasking. Last week, we caught an anchor primping her pout off-camera during a "breaking" news report. When the camera unexpectedly cut to the poor gal below, she got caught with her hand down her blouse— prepping her mic, so she says.
