Who wants to go to a predictable concert where the singer is at her best, sings on key, and sends out love to the audience? Not the folks who go to Amy Winehouse concerts. They're cruisin' for a bruisin', and this otherwise frail looking (and oh, so dainty) chanteuse was happy to oblige. The wacked-out warbler didn't miss a note (well, I mean she was consistent in her missing of notes) as she sucker-punched some fool who was bothering her in the audience. Nelson Mandela might have chosen the wrong person to disinvite to his recent shindig. . .

United Nations Says Stop Being Soft on Celebrity Drug Users

It's common knowledge that drug use often goes hand in hand with the celebrity lifestyle. Countless famous abusers check in to rehab, or even sing about it. Pictures of celebrity junkies using drugs are widely available in magazines or on the internet. But, is public airing of celebrities' habits too small a price to pay for breaking the law?

The UN's International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) thinks celebrity abusers are getting off too easily when it comes to criminal sentencing. In its annual report, the INCB maintains that when celebrities glamorize a drug-related lifestyle, it influences the youth, a group most vulnerable to celebrity culture.

The INCB is warning countries against disproportionately targeting low-level offenders. Instead, countries should go after high-profile users, as well as the criminal gangs fueling the drug trade.

Do you think that celebrities get soft treatment from the criminal justice system? Should we expect them to be role models, and therefore make examples of them when they violate the law?

There's so much weirdness going on here I don't know where to start. First, let me say to Amy Winehouse: Congrats on your Grammy wins. Although people have been commenting on your strange dancing and odd behavior last night, it sure was an improvement on your past cracked-out performances. Example: your duet on The Charlotte Church show with Miss Goodie Two-Shoes herself to sing . . . Michael Jackson's "Beat It." Pause. Scratch head. This should be turned into a game: Two points for every line Amy sings that we can actually understand.

Given what we've heard about the talented and drug-addled singer this year, though, the two NYC radio jocks who put this thing together aren't exaggerating much. We've made fun of strange ~~hairdos~~ hair don'ts before in our Tressed to Ill posts, but I don't think we've ever featured a hairstyle that doubled as an accessory to a crime. Most of you have probably already seen this video of the talented but deeply troubled Amy Winehouse fishing something out of her beehive and snorting it - that's the speculation anyway. I've heard of hiding stuff in your bra, but in your teased beehive? Way bizarre . . . (Thanks, eBaum's World!)
