i can't see why you'd really "need" a job at american apparel...if your job prospects are retail, you can certainly find a place a lot less skeezy for the same amount of coinage
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with working in retail (I do it part time for extra play money and so I can save up a down payment and not rent in a few years).
But American Apparel certainly wouldn't be my first choice.
On the plus side, it seems you can basically ignore customers there, so it would probably be a pretty easy job.
LOL lilkimbo, the staff there are practically trained in pretending their customers don't exist. I'm just not sure I could work there based solely on the fact that I'd have to wear their
hideous hideous clothes.
I loathe AA. They are all completely sexist and shallow. Even the head honcho! also, all of their clothes are jersey or knit, and "unisex" which in my book only means poorly fitting. they've
turned lazy ambiguity into a profit. and that makes me sad.
I agree with whoever said you would just have to ignore customers. I went to an AA with my friend for the first time recently, and even when I tried to FIND a sales associate, they walked
away. When my friend was checking out, the girl pretty much said nothing until I asked if they had a restroom with which she replied "No we dont" in a rude tone.
The people at that AA don't dress any different than anyone going into the store to buy things. Tshirts, jeans, whatever... I mean, Dov is creepy, but its not like he hangs out at the outlet
mall down here.
Ummm- in this economy it is NOT the time to be picky about applying for jobs.... I know plenty of people who would be thrilled to be working at AA simply just to have a job.
Over 2000 people just showed up at a job fair in my city for only 50 available jobs.

1totally agree skigurl. go work at the Gap and you can at least wear jeans instead of tights masquerading as pants.

3This is off subject but you are Gorgeous
4I love American Apparel clothes, but that company's so backwards. Dov Charney is out of his mind.

6Lol, Oh Tres. Your vituperative sense of humor strikes again.
There is literally not one thing at AA I could wear. It's far, far too casual for my tastes.
7I've seen lines of hipster teens applying for jobs at NYC American Apparels ... no joke.

9AA has really amazing benefits
