Getting engaged is a very special right of passage between two people who love each other, and choosing where to take that next step in your relationship is something that usually takes a lot of thought and planning. When the time comes for me to get engaged, I'd want my boyfriend to ask me someplace private so we can share that intimate moment together, just the two of us, but I know that some women really enjoy a more public profession of love. Getting engaged and committing to spend the rest of your life with someone is a decision that should not be made hastily. Usually couples take baby steps - date for a while, move in together, get engaged, and then get married - but not everyone follows those unwritten rules. Some couples move quickly and marry after only months! Personally, I think it's best to really get to know someone before taking the trip down the a
aisle, but to each their own. So what do you think? Are quickie engagements/marriages a do or a don't in your book?

Getting romantically involved with a friend can be tricky, but dating a family friend can be even more complicated. Yes, if things work out it would have been well worth the risk, but if they don't, things could get incredibly awkward for everyone involved - you can't really avoid those close to your family!

A Do or a Don't: Male Plastic Surgery

No matter where you turn, you can't escape photos from the Oscars. I love seeing what the stars wore and how they looked, but one person I can't keep my eyes off of is Mickey Rourke, who has clearly had some work done!

As double standards go, plastic surgery is typically thought of as a female desire, but men have definitely jumped on the Botox, face-lift, even liposuction bandwagon too. I don't know about you, but I like it when men grow old gracefully, so tell me, is male plastic surgery a do or a don't in your eyes?

Sex is a powerful tool. It's an act that you have the right to exercise when you see fit. When you're in a relationship, though, sex becomes a special bond that connects you with your partner. Since relationships aren't always wine and roses, it's not uncommon for people to withhold sex as a form of punishment during an argument, but doesn't that create a power struggle in an otherwise healthy relationship? Since texting is so common these days, it's definitely had an effect on dating. For some of my friends, flirting with their significant others via text during the day helps keep the romance alive at night! And sure, a couple of flirty texts here and there is one thing, but a steamy text session is another! I’ve actually had more than one person confess to me that they love getting frisky via text. Frankly, it seems a bit tricky to me - I guess you have to have a really good imagination! Have you engaged in naughty texts? Or is a text the last thing you think of as sexy?

A Do or a Don't: Checking Out Your Lady Business

Last weekend I spent a giddy night with girlfriends just talking - you know the kind of night I’m talking about! In the midst of our conversation, one friend confessed that she’d never really seen her lady business before. Immediately, the other ladies launched into their own experiences on the matter. I couldn’t help but think of the Sex and the City episode where the girls try to convince Charlotte to check herself out in the mirror - even though she was incredibly uncomfortable, she went through with it!

Personally, I think the more knowledge you have about your body the better, but is grabbing a mirror over-the-top? Have you ever examined yourself down there? Or does the idea make you squirm?
