If the "other delights" include chips, jalapeños, and melted cheddar cheese, then these ladies have my undivided attention. Our gals may look lick luscious on the cover of this album, but all sex appeal was completely unintentional. The Frivolous Five were parodying the cover of a popular Herb Alpert album called Whipped Cream and Other Delights.

I have no clue why anyone would choose to feed on the chemically enhanced and processed "food" they serve the astronauts in space, but there's obviously a market for it. Space Food Sticks were introduced back in the '60s and, to my surprise, are still available online today. The following commercial claims that these dog treats provide "lasting energy to feel alive."

What were we thinking? One game encouraged impressionable kiddos to play with dynamite and another had them steal cheese from a mouse trap. Let's not forget Poppin Hoppies, the game promoted by a slurring, drunken, cartoon narrator who's clearly "popped" open a few already.

Back in the day when toys cost a measly three bucks, Mattel had submachine guns and pistols on the market. If modern day video games influence young children in negative ways, then how about the smoke-firing guns, holsters, and ammo little dudes used to play target practice with a few decades ago? The more things change, the more they stay the same— surprise, surprise, with a little "bang, bang!"

Set the choreography of Bob Fosse to Unk's "Walk It Out," and you got a perfect match. Who knew? Now if only I could say the same about the brightly colored, polyester pantsuits these women are thrusting about in.

It's hard to imagine that these guys existed in the same era as The Rolling Stones and The Who--you know, cool bands. Maybe they were home-schooled or something--by elves from Vegas.
A picture says a thousand words, but I really only have one: Wow.

See that little tot there? She grew up to be funny, smart, and have awesome musical tastes! Francoise Hardy is one of my favorite of the French yé-yé singers from the '60s, so I was pleased to see a reader was paying homage to the French goddess with her screen name.

The German band Kraftwerk--from their look to their sound to their sense of humor--has had a huge role in what modern music looks and sounds like. Devo, Daft Punk, Air? Ambient, Techno, Electroclash?

The humor in That's Queen B*tch To You!--a flip-book of ads from the 50's and 60's--comes from the contrast between the psycho-cheeriness of the women in the ads with the b*tchiness of the "what they were really thinking" thought bubbles. Example: "Men have feelings too...But who really gives a crap?" and "My mother doesn't just enjoy guilt trips, she runs the travel agency."
