Or maybe this is just some hipster from my neighborhood, snapped last week. It's hard to say.

I'm so glad my hunch was right, and literal music videos are the next big thing! And I love this song. I bet back in the '80s they were all, "Let's make a video about a freaky library, it's gonna be awesome!"

So many things from the high '80s have made a resurgence: skinny jeans, Members Only jackets, and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cocked and oversized baseball caps. The one thing I don't see returning is the use of the word "boogie" in any unironic way. "Hey, wanna boogie?"

If you're in need of a midweek pick-me-up, then look no further and feast your eyes on Duffy Lucas. For one night back in the '80s, he donned his best Miami Vice-inspired sports coat, put on a pair of snazzy white dancing shoes, and gave his best lip-sync performance to his favorite song. By Phil Collins.

Whether the bride made us do it or there was a lapse in our own judgment, we've all been caught dead in an ugly dress. Unfortunately, there's usually evidence to remind us in the form of a prominently displayed picture hanging on mom and dad's living room wall. UglyDress.com is an archive of fugly frocks and, chances are, you'll find someone wearing something 10 times uglier than that geometric eyesore you donned for your sister's wedding.

Hard to believe, but Stephen Colbert was the lead in a band back in the '80s. It was a time when love songs and power ballads dominated the airwaves and young Stephen had no problem playing the part of a hard-core rocker stalker. (He had a problem obeying that pesky restraining order, but a "special hidden message" had to be delivered to a "special hidden lady."

The New Kids on the Block were a hit boy band back in the late '80s and early '90s. Who would've thunk that they could reunite over a decade later and still have fans traveling far, lining up, and sleeping in tents on NYC street corners to see them perform live on the Today Show? If NKOTB's middle-aged female fans of today are anything like the teenage zombies who adored them back in the day, then I'm officially scared.

Don't let the awkward dancing and forced hype fool you. This is not an infomercial for another lame-ass "greatest hits" album. It's a low-budget ad for another lame-ass local restaurant posing as a lame-ass "greatest hits" album — natch.

Let me get this straight: Someone thought the best way to get kids excited about reading was to have a handful of rapping raisins promote it? "Nature's candy" is more likely to send kids running for the local restroom, not the library. The PSA folks should have employed a handful of break dancing fingers instead.

Perfect Strangers and Head of the Class celebrated geeks in all their glory, from Balki the dancin' fool to Arvid the computer nerd. So why, oh why, would ABC promote this pair of shows with a hopelessly awkward rap? Because it was the '80s, that's why.
