Not just content with
erasing Bush policies, President Obama
signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act today, undoing a Supreme Court ruling that declared workers had to file wage claims within 180 days of a company's decision to pay an unfair wage.
The law's namesake, Lilly Ledbetter, worked for nearly two decades before discovering that she was being paid less than her male colleagues; but because of the statute of limitations, she could not sue. Now, the clock will start ticking once workers discover imbalances, thus giving women suffering pay discrimination more time to sue employers.
