  • Sarah Burton looked Anna Wintour straight in the eye and lied to her about her involvement with Kate Middleton's royal wedding dress — not a feat most designers could pull off. According to Hamish Bowles, the editor cornered Burton and asked her point blank whether or not she was designing it, and Burton said no. "Anna was telling everyone, 'Sarah told me she's not doing the dress, so she's not doing the dress,'" Bowles said. [The Cut]

  • A few other pieces of Alexander McQueen's creations are on display as part of the Victoria and Albert Museum's current exhibit, titled British Design 1948-2012: Innovation in the Modern Age. Among other items included in the exhibit is "a tattered Anarchy in the U.K. T-shirt designed by Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren." [Fashion Etc]

  • The Model Alliance today released an analysis of the modeling industry's working conditions and found that 68 percent of the models surveyed suffered from depression or anxiety, and 77 percent had been exposed to drugs and alcohol on the job. The analysis also revealed that 93 percent of models get their start in the industry before their 20th birthday. [The Fashion Spot]

  • Marissa Mayer is known as much for her position as one of the top female engineers at Google as she is for her penchant for designer clothing. "Oscar de la Renta is an amazing designer who works really well with color and detail which I think is something that's inspiring," she says. "When you want to treat yourself to something that's really beautiful, that really inspires you and captures your imagination, you should buy it." [BuzzFeed Shift]

  • Just how many issues of Vogue has Kate Moss covered? According to a new book, Kate Moss: The Making of an Icon, she's been on over 300 covers of international editions of the magazine, including her recent September 2011 cover of American Vogue. [Stylelist]

Will and Kate Follow Tradition With Wedding Balcony Kiss

Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are celebrating their six-month wedding anniversary.

Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are celebrating their six-month wedding anniversary. On April 29, the world watched as the royal couple said "I do" and sealed it with a Buckingham Palace balcony kiss. And while their first kiss was sweet, their second kiss was even better!

And while the newlywed couple had the liplock scheduled (and had even practiced it beforehand!), the first royal wedding balcony kiss was much more spontaneous. When William's parents Princess Diana and Prince Charles made their balcony appearance after their wedding ceremony, the crowd chanted for the couple to kiss. Diana said, "Well how about it?" And they became the first royal wedding couple to have their inaugural public smooch on the palace's balcony. In 1986, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York also kissed on the balcony after their wedding.

Bhutan's King Marries in Dazzling Royal Wedding

While this royal wedding includes a "Prince Charming" and a beautiful bride, take one look at the brightly colored celebration and you know it's not Will and Kate we're talking about.

While this royal wedding includes a "Prince Charming" and a beautiful bride, take one look at the brightly colored celebration and you know it's not Will and Kate we're talking about. Bhutan's popular King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, 31, married Queen Ashi Jetsun Pema today in an exuberant ceremony at the same venue where his coronation took place in 2008. This is a joyful day for the adorable couple, but the king's female fans may be distraught. Back when he was the young Crown Prince of Bhutan, Jigme made such an impression with the women on a 2006 visit to Thailand the Thai press nicknamed him Prince Charming.

The new queen is 10 years younger than her husband, but in the Bhutan king's May announcement of the engagement he said, "While she is young, she is warm and kind in heart and character." Maybe it's their mutual love of basketball that brought them together? The king represents Bhutan in international basketball events, and his wife was the captain of her high school basketball team. And both have studied in the UK, as King Jigme graduated from Oxford and Queen Jetsun is currently attending Regents College in London, majoring in international relations with minors in psychology and art history.

Queen Elizabeth: A Royal Wedding Planner

Prince William and Kate Middleton were VIP wedding guests this weekend, making a royal appearance at the marriage of their friends Thomas Sutton and Harriet Colthurst.

Prince William and Kate Middleton were VIP wedding guests this weekend, making a royal appearance at the marriage of their friends Thomas Sutton and Harriet Colthurst. The newlyweds know a thing about high-profile weddings, after hosting their own this Spring. For a new book coming out about his grandmother, titled Our Queen, Prince William opened up about how she was a "massive help" while he and Kate planned their wedding, offering her invaluable expertise. Somewhat surprisingly, the queen was very supportive of William and Kate making sure they had a guest list filled with friends, instead of dignitaries neither of them knew.

William said that when he came into his first post-engagement meeting about the wedding, he was given a guest list with 777 names of dignitaries, governors, and not one person he knew. As the future king, he had palace officials planning his big day, and they told him that these were the people he needed to invite. Frustrated, he called the queen the next day and asked if he had to do this. William shared her response for the book: "'No. Start with your friends first and then go from there.' And she told me to bin the list. She made the point that there are certain times when you have to strike the right balance."

When it came to what to wear, however, the queen had stronger opinions — she wanted him to wear the uniform for the Irish Guard, his highest rank. "I wanted to decide what to wear for the wedding. I was given a categorical, 'No, you’ll wear this!' . . . So you don’t always get what you want, put it that way. But I knew perfectly well that it was for the best. That 'no' is a very good 'no.' So you just do as you’re told!"

Buckingham Palace Has Kate's Wedding Dress to Thank For Spike in Visitors

With Kate Middleton's royal wedding dress on display this Summer, visitors to Buckingham Palace this year are up 19 percent compared to the same period last year.

With Kate Middleton's royal wedding dress on display this Summer, visitors to Buckingham Palace this year are up 19 percent compared to the same period last year. The palace opens up every Summer to the public, and this year the big draw is the Sarah Burton-designed Alexander McQueen gown Kate (or rather, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) wore when she wed Prince William on April 29. The queen and Kate opened the exhibit July 22, and since July 23 it has been visited by 148,000 Brits and tourists.

If you make it over to London from now until the exhibit closes Oct. 3, would you visit Buckingham Palace purely to eye Kate's infamous dress in person?
