As we wait to hear how the Supreme Court will rule on gay-marriage laws in the US, we're celebrating same-sex big days with some of the most touching and beautiful gay weddings we've come across.

Just like other lifetime lovers, same-sex couples incorporate many well-loved traditions, and the heart of the big day is the same: two people in love dedicating the rest of their lives to each other. We've picked some of our favorite gay weddings to share with you that are paving the way for the union of "man and man" or "woman and woman" to be the traditional weddings of the future.

10 Reasons Eloping Is Beautiful

I've seen a good amount of traditional tie-the-knot ceremonies, and they are all wonderful in their own way, don't get me wrong.

I've seen a good amount of traditional tie-the-knot ceremonies, and they are all wonderful in their own way, don't get me wrong. But for some reason whenever I come across an elopement, I get all misty-eyed in a way I just don't with run-of-the-mill big days. Elopements stand out as more romantic, personal, and sentimental than over-the-top ceremonies because they are really all about the couple. And modern-day elopements now incorporate many of the perks a traditional wedding has — cakes, professional photography, a reception/party later on — making it a sort of best-of-both-worlds hybrid event. To see what I'm talking about, I've rounded up some of my favorite elopements for a show-and-tell on the beauty of an unwedding.

Oiselle Runaway Bride Running Wedding Dress: Cool or Not?

You want your personality to shine when it's your wedding, and if you're a fitness fanatic, chances are that can mean incorporating details into your day that show your love of healthy living, whether it's a prewedding bridal party hike or a menu chock-full of organic options during the reception.

You want your personality to shine when it's your wedding, and if you're a fitness fanatic, chances are that can mean incorporating details into your day that show your love of healthy living, whether it's a prewedding bridal party hike or a menu chock-full of organic options during the reception.

But for running brides who want to make a statement, there's the Oiselle Runaway Bride wedding dress ($1,756). The short dress is made of performance, moisture-wicking material — perfect for the bride who wants to run a 10k before she walks down the aisle — and includes details that are must haves for your wedding day: a ring pocket, a bouquet holder, and a fuel belt that's hidden to keep your ensemble looking picture perfect.

For such a simple dress, the price seems a little expensive, but it does include in-person fittings and consultations at Oiselle's design headquarters in Seattle (and at less than $2,000 may even be considered affordable in the wedding dress realm).

I love the idea of the perfect dress for a nontraditional wedding that incorporates a couple's love of fitness, but what do you think? Is this wedding dress a good idea, or is the price tag too steep?

What's the Most Eccentric Wedding You've Attended?

When screenwriter Glenn Camhi was sitting in traffic in LA, he heard a call for three-minute films about Los Angeles.

When screenwriter Glenn Camhi was sitting in traffic in LA, he heard a call for three-minute films about Los Angeles. His idea? A couple getting married over the course of one day in LA, called "LA Love." They recite one line of their vows at each destination, but if they don't make it to Griffith Park Observatory to kiss at sunset, then the marriage is off.

While it would be pretty difficult to have guests attend a wedding like this (though I suppose you could have a few waiting at each destination?), I've always thought the more unorthodox the wedding the better. Though I've also heard of offbeat weddings — like a Philadelphia Eagles-themed one — that prove it is possible to go too far.

Whether wonderfully weird or just plain odd, what's the most eccentric wedding you've been to?
