Recently I had dinner at Grand Cafe, a great old-school French restaurant here in San Francisco. The meal was excellent and I ate far too much. One of the things I enjoyed is the dish pictured here. It's classic escargot baked with lots of butter, garlic, white wine, and breadcrumbs. It was so good I wanted to lick the gratin ramekin. While I understand that eating snails is not for everyone, I happen to love the delicacy. How do you feel about it? Would you eat Grand Cafe's escargot?
It's not as fast, but it sure is more interesting—watch that s(nail) car go! As the announcer says, "All heck breaks loose!"
Here we go again with another useless world record. Alistair Galpin holds the title for having the most snails, eight to be exact, creepy crawl across his face for one minute. How can this ambitious manifestation of dumbass merit any sort of applause or credit? As Galpin confessed, "I've been practising a bit, but the problem I have is they keep pooing on my face." That's a good enough reason for recognition, if you ask me.
