3 Awkward Scenarios and a Relatable Breakup Speech From This Week's Girls

From penis pics to sexual harassment to a deflowering disaster, there's a lot to talk about from last night's Girls episode "Hannah's Diary."

From penis pics to sexual harassment to a deflowering disaster, there's a lot to talk about from last night's Girls episode "Hannah's Diary." The show mainly focuses on Marnie's boyfriend, Charlie, and his buddy reading Hannah's diary and finding out from it that Marnie isn't happy in the relationship. This results in a very-hurt Charlie and his friend singing excerpts from the diary at an open mic night, causing Marnie to be angry at Hannah — instead of the guys who violated their privacy — for writing her brutally honest thoughts on the couple. We'll have to wait 'till next week to find out the fate of Marnie and Charlie (and if Marnie hooks up with sexy artist Booth Jonathon). But what really got us talking today were the super awkward sex-related moments from the episode. Here are the three scenarios that had us cringing, including one that involves a breakup speech we can relate to:

  • The penis pic: The episode begins with Hannah's pseudo-boyfriend Adam sending her a photo of his penis, then following it up with a text that said, "SRY. That wasn't meant for you." Despite Marnie telling Hannah that she shouldn't respond when he basically is telling her he sends dick pics to other girls, Hannah sends him a photo of her boobs back. Eventually though, Hannah realizes she wants more from the arrangement than he does, and she gives him a great breakup speech that actually came from a real breakup email Lena Dunham wrote. She tells him, "I don't even want a boyfriend . . . I just want someone who wants to hang out all the time, and thinks I'm the best person in the world, and wants to have sex with only me." The breakup backfires, but we liked seeing Hannah sort-of stick up for herself for once.
  • A touchy boss: Hannah starts a new nameless job, and right off the bat her old, overweight boss turns an unwelcome back massage into a boob massage. After that incident and a butt pat, Hannah finds out from her fellow female co-workers that he does it to everyone. And they basically tell her to just let him sexually harass her since he's a good boss and a nice guy. Um, gross! From the way they "fixed" her eyebrows (see above picture), Hannah should know better than to take advice from her new office mates.
  • Deflowering gone awry: As the only virgin in the group, Shoshanna is feeling left out from the sexually active bunch, and she's desperate to remedy her situation. She has high hopes in the episode when she bumps into a cute guy from her past who asks her to dinner, but things go from awkward to disastrous during the date. First he tells her she can touch his penis, and she responds with "not until we've kissed." Then after he starts taking off her clothes in the bedroom she asks him if they can have sex. But before they do she tells him she's a virgin, and he tells her he doesn't do virgins because they bleed and get too attached. She counters with, "I so don't get attached when I bleed. You know, it's like amazing. I'm like totally not an attached bleeder." Poor Shoshanna — better luck next time!

Teen Sexting Not so Popular After All

Stories of rampant teen sexting have filled TV shows and cable news channels for so many years now that you'd think it's the main use of cell phones in the demographic.

Stories of rampant teen sexting have filled TV shows and cable news channels for so many years now that you'd think it's the main use of cell phones in the demographic. Not so, says a new study from the University of New Hampshire's Crimes Against Children Research Center, which interviewed over 1,500 10- through 17-year-olds on their use of suggestive texting.

The survey shows that a smaller portion of teens — two and a half percent — have sent nude or nearly nude pics, which is in striking contrast to a previous study from the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy that claimed 20 percent of teens have sent explicit images. The parameters for "nearly nude" pictures included teens in bathing suits or underwear in suggestive poses. Along with the raw data, the newer study bears an important distinction, adult teens — those 18 and 19 — were specifically not included in the study since their use of sexting provocative pictures is not considered a crime of child pornography.

The university hopes to make their data figures widely known to show that despite what may appear in the media, sexting is not the norm for minor teens. Spreading the word that most of their peers do not send racy photos of themselves may prevent teens from the potential embarrassment and emotional pain that 21 percent of teens are said to have felt after sexting.

Do you agree with this new study that teen sexting is not as popular as it's been depicted in the past?

Group Therapy: Boyfriend Won't Stop Sexting Friend

My man and a female friend of his had been talking dirty to each other (about how they wanted to get together and make out, or cuddle up and watch a movie when I wasn't home etc.). Needless to say, I found out, we argued and I almost left him. I told him I don't deserve to be treated like a piece of ass he can just come home to after a night out.

He got really upset (like they always do) blamed the whole thing on having low self esteem and "not feeling good enough for me" and now wants to try to make things better and stop talking dirty to his friend. The agreement is that I would try to see past this behaviour if he was to tell her that the sexy talk has to stop, indefinitely, and if I could see it. He agreed and we both went to bed with a lot to think about.

This morning I remind him that I would like him to message her and he acts like I'm out of line, with the eye rolling "yes hun . . ." It's important that I see with my own eyes that it's been taken care of, so I can start trusting him again. Why does he see that as a problem? Is that a sign he doesn't want to stop? I don't care if he's friends with her, he has a right to choose his friends, but I have a right to protect and rebuild my relationship with a man I love, don't I? After everything we talked about last night I just can't understand why one little task is such a chore.

For its 100th-anniversary edition, the officials behind the Concise Oxford English Dictionary are taking a leap into the modern, pop culture lexicon with the addition of words inspired by a social media culture. Included among the 400 newly sanctioned English words are woot (!), retweet, sexting, noob, and cyberbullying.

According to the dictionary's editors, the words were selected based on the most popularly used phrases as seen in 2 billion words pulled from the Internet's most viewed websites.

Nontech words will also be added to this year's 240,000 dictionary entries. Stretch jeans get some added respect with the inclusion of jeggings to the official book while mankini is also given an air of legitimacy.

Group Therapy: Need Tips For Sending Sexy Pics to Long-Distance Love

This question is from a Group Therapy post in our TrèsSugar Community.

My boyfriend and I live far apart. The distance is frustrating, especially when we're horny. We already exchanged a few pictures. Nothing nude though. Usually I am in my bra and undies and at one point I had no bra on, I stood backwards, and took a picture of my back. He is just shirtless. I need some new sexy ideas that can get him going without actually being full-on naked? Thanks guys!

Do You Think Anthony Weiner Should Resign?

Weinergate may come to an end after two bizarre weeks of embarrassing pictures, confusing interviews, and bad jokes.

Weinergate may come to an end after two bizarre weeks of embarrassing pictures, confusing interviews, and bad jokes. Earlier this week, President Obama called the scandal a distraction and said he would resign if he were NY representative Anthony Weiner. Well, it looks Weiner has come to that decision, after talking to his wife Huma Abedin, as pressure from Democratic leaders rises and lewd pictures and details continue to emerge.

The seven-term congressman is expected to resign today. Most of you said you would break up with your partner if he committed online transgressions like Weiner, but do you think his personal mistakes should cost him his job? It hasn't been shown that he broke any laws or even had a physical relationship, and many politicians, including President Bill Clinton, who had sex with an intern in the oval office, have survived far worse scandals. Should Weiner resign in your opinion?

Sunday Confessional: I Caught My Boss Sexting

I was working beside my (married) supervisor during a particularly boring day, when I noticed he was texting for a very long time. Texting is banned at work, and though I shouldn't have, I had to see what was so important. I looked over to see his response, which went into graphic detail about what they would do after work and the images he wanted her to send him. The recipient's name was different from his wife's, and we still had 6 hours left on that shift.
