James Bond's Guide to Pickup Lines

On this date, April 13, 60 years ago, the very first James Bond novel was published, spurring a franchise that has captured the world with its titular hero who prefers his martinis shaken, not stirred.

On this date, April 13, 60 years ago, the very first James Bond novel was published, spurring a franchise that has captured the world with its titular hero who prefers his martinis shaken, not stirred. That book, Ian Fleming's Casino Royale, was first adapted into a TV episode in 1954, then a parody film in 1967, and finally, the 2006 film starring our current Bond, Daniel Craig. Ian Fleming went on to write a total of 12 novels and two short-story collections starring the British spy, and they were all made into Bond films.

Clearly a lot has changed since 1962, when Connery became the first Bond on the big screen in Dr. No and the iconic sexy, suited-up secret agent was born on the big screen. Aside from impeccable dressing and his shaken, not stirred, martini, it's Bond's lady-killer skills that have stood the test of time, even while 007 has been reincarnated over the years by a handful of actors playing the film role to kill for. Let's look back at the best, most innuendo-filled pickup lines from the gun-wielding heartthrob!

Famous Women Who Are Proud Feminists

What does a modern-day feminist look like?

What does a modern-day feminist look like? A chart-topping, media-dominating pop star mom who happens to be good friends with America's first family and married to a hip-hop mogul. In other words, Beyoncé, who recently told British Vogue, "I guess I am a modern-day feminist," adding, "I do believe in equality."

While Beyoncé also explained she believes the term "feminist" can be "extreme" and that she's not a big fan of labels, other famous women have been more unabashed about declaring themselves feminists. Zooey Deschanel surprised us with her cover interview for Glamour's February issue. The doe-eyed New Girl star said, "We can't be feminine and be feminists and be successful? I want to be a f*cking feminist and wear a f*cking Peter Pan collar. So f*cking what?"

Keira Knightley also recently used the F word — feminism, that is — in an interview. "I remember doing interviews, and people would ask, as if it was a joke, 'So you mean you are a feminist?'" Keira, 28, recounted to Vogue. "As though feminism couldn't be discussed unless we were making fun of it. I don't want to deny my femininity," she continued, "but would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at." Keira's statements provide a solid manifesto for modern feminism.

Not all of Beyoncé, Keira, and Zooey's celebrity peers are so eager to call themselves feminists. Lady Gaga infamously said awhile back, "I'm not a feminist. I hail men; I love men," as if loving men and advocating political, social, and economic equality for women were mutually exclusive. But famous feminists do have some company. Read through for quotes from famous women who are proud feminists.

Sexy Stars Dish on Nudity

She may have been a "lady" on Downton Abbey, but Jessica Brown Findlay had a very nonladylike moment in the 2011 film Albatross.

She may have been a "lady" on Downton Abbey, but Jessica Brown Findlay had a very nonladylike moment in the 2011 film Albatross. It was 23-year-old Jessica's first, and probably last, topless scene in her first starring role before Downton made her famous as the most lovable Crawley sister. On the onscreen nudity, Jessica said it "was naivete and not knowing that I could say no," adding, "It's not something I would do again."

But some stars have no regrets when it comes to stripping for a role. The stars of last year's Magic Mike weren't afraid to expose their thoughts on taking it off on screen. Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, and Adam Rodriguez got cheeky chatting about their naughty roles, but the faux penises in the stripper flick don't compare to the most-talked-about "member" of recent years, the one belonging to Michael Fassbender in Shame. (Even George Clooney complimented Michael on his package.) We've also seen a new wave of female nudity with Kirsten Dunst, Carey Mulligan, and Elizabeth Olsen going topless in nonsexual ways on screen. So let's hear from the stars themselves on their revealing experiences with nudity: from stripping on screen to naked husbands to leaked nude photos.
