Kate Middleton and Prince William Attend Remembrance Sunday Services

Yesterday afternoon's Remembrance Sunday services in London brought out most of the royal family.

Yesterday afternoon's Remembrance Sunday services in London brought out most of the royal family. Kate Middleton observed the parade from a balcony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall alongside Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who is married to Prince William's uncle Prince Edward. Joining Kate and Sophie was Sir Timothy Laurence, the husband of Princess Anne.

Kate's own husband Prince William took part in the main event as a member of the country's armed services. Prince Harry, though, was absent, since he's serving in Afghanistan. However, Prince Harry has called home three times to check in with his relatives. Harry has been deployed since September and apparently will still be abroad through the holidays. Kate and William, though, have been fortunate to stay close to home in recent weeks. They attended the 600th anniversary of their university, St Andrews, and Kate shopped solo at Harvey Nichols Saturday.

Kate Middleton Helps the Queen Kick Off Day One of the Diamond Jubilee Tour

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, had the honor of joining Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip for an event this morning.

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, had the honor of joining Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip for an event this morning. The trio, along with various royal minders, arrived at London's St. Pancras station to board a train to the city of Leicester. Once they arrived, the queen, Kate, and the prince met with well-wishers and officially kicked off the first day of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK. While the queen wore a bright dress from Angela Kelly, Kate wore a suit from LK Bennett, one of her favorite High Street shops, and a hat by James Lock with Episode shoes.

In Leicester, the group parted ways initially. Kate and the queen watched a fashion presentation at De Montfort University, and Prince Philip checked out a community building project from other students. Kate, the queen, and Prince Philip reunited later for a service at Leicester Cathedral and lunch. This is the first of many jam-packed days for the queen as she gears up to spend the next few months traveling her nation on the Jubilee tour. Her grandson, Prince Harry, is off spreading the family message in Latin and South American, while Prince William serves the country as part of the Royal Air Force. Kate and the queen have attended events together previously, making the Duchess of Cambridge among the first women who married into the royal family to have been invited to press events with the queen during her early years of being a royal.
