4 Titillating Tidbits About Hillary Clinton Biopic

Raise your hand if you'd watch a movie following a 20-something Hillary Rodham while she's deciding between her political career and her boyfriend, Bill Clinton.

Raise your hand if you'd watch a movie following a 20-something Hillary Rodham while she's deciding between her political career and her boyfriend, Bill Clinton. Yeah, that's what we thought. Where can we buy tickets? Well, we're getting a little ahead of ourselves here, but a Hillary Clinton biopic screenplay has Hollywood all atwitter, and we don't blame them. Titled Rodham, it was No. 4 on Tinseltown's coveted "Black List" (a list of film execs' favorite scripts), but as of yet it only has a production company — Twilight's Temple Hill Entertainment — and a director, James Ponsoldt.

Thanks to Hillary's autobiography Living History, we got a glimpse into her past, and we're going to find out even more about her tenure as secretary of state in her next memoir, out in 2014. Now we'd love to see the life of the possible 2016 presidential candidate played out on the big screen. The script was written by a 39-year-old writer from South Korea, Young Il Kim, and he had us intrigued at "there's a scene with Hillary and Bill making out." Even more hot and heavy details have recently emerged, as The Daily Beast has obtained a copy of what may be the final screenplay. Find out more about the screenplay now, and tell us: who could you see playing a young, lovestruck Hillary?

Impeachment Irony
The story follows Hillary as she's struggling to find the balance between work and romance. Ironically, her job at the time — as the youngest attorney on the House Judiciary Committee — was working to impeach President Richard Nixon, while her boyfriend was rising political hopeful Bill. This same impeachment process would be used against Bill during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Office Romance
Hillary gets flirtatious with her impeachment committee co-worker, former Governor (and Republican) William Weld, in the script. She describes him as looking like Ryan O'Neal in Love Story, and there's a scene in which they "draw closer for that inevitable kiss" just to be interrupted by a call from Bill.

Steamy Scene
Since Hillary and Bill were in a long-distance relationship during those courtship days — Bill was trying to get his political career started in Arkansas, while Hillary had her own high-stakes career in Washington DC — they made their time together count. Il Kim spilled that there's a scene where they hook up in her Dupont Circle apartment. According to the script, they "devour each other" in a makeout scene that includes Hillary getting pressed against the wall and Bill tearing off her top before he "buries his head into her cleavage." There's also a scene in which Hillary tells Bill, "I f*ckin' love you. I mean that. I love you and I want to f*ck you."

Sexy Songs
The writer dishes that there's a scene in which Hillary puts on makeup while singing Carly Simon's "You're So Vain." Bill also gets in on the musical numbers, wooing Hillary by playing "Happy Birthday" and "Hail to the Chief" on the saxophone.

¡Feliz el Cinco de Mayo! US Presidents Honor Mexican Holiday

Over the years, US Presidents have been celebrating Cinco de Mayo at the White House with music, dancing, food, and other cultural festivities that recognize the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla in which the Mexican army beat the odds and defeated the French.

Over the years, US Presidents have been celebrating Cinco de Mayo at the White House with music, dancing, food, and other cultural festivities that recognize the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla in which the Mexican army beat the odds and defeated the French. Yesterday would have been Obama's "cinco" celebration, but the president nixed the partying this year, instead releasing an official statement honoring Cinco de Mayo following his trip to Mexico and Costa Rica last week. It read in part:

On Cinco de Mayo we celebrate the contributions and heritage of Mexican Americans and we recognize the strong cultural, familial, and economic ties that bind the United States and Mexico. . . . Cinco de Mayo reminds us that America's diversity is America's strength. Today, as we celebrate the contributions and history of Mexican Americans and Hispanics in America, let us celebrate the larger story of America and our unique immigrant heritage.

This change of plans could possibly be due to the sequester that has resulted in other White House events getting cut such as the Jewish American Heritage Month celebration. It's too bad culturally significant soirees at the White House are being canceled, as there have been some funny and sweet moments at these celebrations over the years. So in honor of yesterday's holiday, let's take a look back at how our recent presidents and first wives have celebrated Cinco de Mayo.

Could One of These Girls Become President One Day?

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has joined Hillary Clinton on the list of women who could one day become president.

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has joined Hillary Clinton on the list of women who could one day become president. This week, political observers speculated that Gillibrand, who replaced Hillary Clinton in the Senate when she became secretary of state, is setting herself up nicely for a presidential run. And while Gillibrand probably wouldn't run against Hillary, she has solid fundraising skills, moderate credibility, and strong political will. She's definitely someone to keep an eye on. Whoever ends up being America's first female president, the girls in this new ad from EMILY's List hope to follow in her footsteps. The group, which gives financial backing to pro-choice and Democratic female candidates, has started a new campaign called Madam President.

In the spot released today, well-spoken and admittedly adorable young girls take the presidential podium. "My mom told me I could be anything I wanted," says one of the mini commanders in chief. Another asks incredulously, "Can you imagine? No woman president? They were all boys!" EMILY's List President Stephanie Schriock hopes the campaign will keep momentum going and lead to a woman topping the 2016 ticket. She said: "We do not know if Hillary is going to run, but we are hopeful that she may. And if she chooses not to, our options are far from exhausted." Watch now. The cute kids won't disappoint.

The Obamas Shine Bright Among Hollywood Stars at the White House Correspondents' Dinner

The biggest names of Washington and Hollywood were together in one room tonight for the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner.

The biggest names of Washington and Hollywood were together in one room tonight for the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner. While it's affectionately known as "nerd prom," President Barack Obama, the guest of honor, showed just how cool politicians can be, making an entrance to a DJ Khaled song and cracking jokes about Jay-Z. "I've got 99 problems, and now Jay-Z's one," he said in reference to the rapper's recent Cuba trip. Overall, First Lady Michelle Obama seemed very entertained by the president's comic material, which included a skit of Obama playing Daniel Day-Lewis playing Obama.

On the red carpet, stars of DC-based TV dramas — like Claire Danes, Kerry Washington, Kate Mara, and Robin Wright — joined other Hollywood regulars including Sofía Vergara and Sharon Stone. Yet many stars we spoke to agreed the night had more gravitas than your typical Hollywood premiere or award show. Many actors and actresses told us that the night was a once-a-year chance to get smart and talented people from politics and entertainment together. Meanwhile, actor Gerard Butler just wanted to have fun, goofing off with his "man date," as he called him, Piers Morgan. And comedians John Oliver and Rebel Wilson both told us that they'd love to be the act at the dinner one day, even if it is a tough job. As for this year's headliner, Conan O'Brien, he wasn't afraid to poke fun at the president. "Some in this room even accused the president of being distant and aloof,” Conan said. “When I asked the president about that earlier, he said, ‘Oh,’ and walked away.”

And of course, the fashion industry wasn't going to be left out. Anna Wintour worked the red carpet in a glamorous gown, while J.Crew's Jenna Lyons sported a white button-down tucked into a feathered skirt, along with her signature black-rimmed glasses. Despite the star-studded guest list, the celebrities we spoke to admitted that they were most excited to see President Obama and the first lady. See pictures of the first couple and DC's big night now and videos of President Obama's and Conan's speeches, which also included touching tributes to the recent tragedies in Boston and Texas.

Bush standing next to an impersonator and Obama referencing the Texts From Hillary meme. We can't help but get excited about what stops Conan O'Brien, this year's host, will pull out. Presidents and First Ladies Unite For George W. Bush

Living US presidents and their first ladies united today to celebrate the opening of the George W.

Living US presidents and their first ladies united today to celebrate the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas, TX. The historical photo op included presidents Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and his dad, George H.W. Bush, as well as their wives, who all seemed to enjoy themselves. Bush supporters ranging from former world leaders like Tony Blair to family members attended the outdoor ceremony. And, of course, the Bush twins were on hand. Jenna looked great after just giving birth two weeks ago, while Barbara showed off a darker hairstyle.

The presidential library will include thousands of documents from Bush's time in office and will be dedicated to his legacy, which seems to be in better shape lately. His approval ratings were around 30 percent in his final year in office but have risen to 47 percent. It's common for ex-presidents to become more popular over time — just look at Bill Clinton. He's been everywhere lately, joining Twitter @billclinton and picking up a GLAAD Award last week. Even President Obama, who heavily criticized Bush's policies, had a good word for W today. He said, "To know the man is to like the man. Because he's comfortable in his own skin. He knows who he is. He doesn't put on any pretenses. He takes his job seriously but he doesn't take himself too seriously. He is a good man." See photos from the event now!

Why You Should See Girl Rising

Girl Rising is a beautiful film about the power of educating girls.

Girl Rising is a beautiful film about the power of educating girls. After gaining momentum with on-demand screenings organized through the website Gathr, it was picked up by Regal Cinemas. Beginning today, it will be available in 150 theaters across the country for a one-week engagement. Girl Rising is not a documentary, nor fiction, but rather a powerful piece of storytelling that follows nine real girls, each of whom has overcome common barriers to education. The filmmakers asked award-winning writers to each create a vignette about the girl from her own country. Those stories were then used as the screenplay and are narrated by famous actresses. And in the film, each girl, not a professional, acts out her own story. Watch now to find out more.

Gabby Giffords's Emotional Gun Control Op-Ed Goes Viral

Right from the title — "A Senate in the Gun Lobby's Grip" — Gabby Giffords's New York Times op-ed is direct about who is preventing even the smallest new gun regulations from moving forward.

Right from the title — "A Senate in the Gun Lobby's Grip" — Gabby Giffords's New York Times op-ed is direct about who is preventing even the smallest new gun regulations from moving forward. Yesterday, a minority of the Senate blocked a bipartisan bill expanding background checks by threatening a filibuster, and Giffords laid the blame at the feet of the gun lobby and the weak lawmakers intimidated by it. She wrote with emotion in the op-ed you've probably spotted on Twitter or in your Facebook newsfeed:

Senators say they fear the N.R.A. and the gun lobby. But I think that fear must be nothing compared to the fear the first graders in Sandy Hook Elementary School felt as their lives ended in a hail of bullets. The fear that those children who survived the massacre must feel every time they remember their teachers stacking them into closets and bathrooms, whispering that they loved them, so that love would be the last thing the students heard if the gunman found them.

"Shame on them," Giffords said about the senators who expressed sympathy as they looked her in the eyes as she talked about being shot in the head at point-blank range and then voted against background checks that 90 percent of Americans support. She continued:

I know what a complicated issue is; I know what it feels like to take a tough vote. This was neither. These senators made their decision based on political fear and on cold calculations about the money of special interests like the National Rifle Association, which in the last election cycle spent around $25 million on contributions, lobbying and outside spending.

Giffords, who said that she was "furious," joined President Obama in utter frustration and anger. The president, who pointed out that many Americans already think there are these types of background checks for convicted felons and the mentally ill, blamed the gun lobby for intimidating senators: "Instead of supporting this compromise, the gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill. They claimed that it would create some sort of 'big brother' gun registry, even though the bill did the opposite. This legislation, in fact, outlawed any registry."

Do you think the emotional response from Giffords and Obama will lead to more gun control?

Hillary Clinton 2016 Swag

Are you ready for Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016?

Are you ready for Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016? Yes, it's 2013, but after last week's news that some of Hillary's former staffers have created a political action committee, the murmurings that she may run in the next presidential election grew to a fever pitch. Then last Sunday, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd wrote:: "Of course Hillary is running. I've never met a man who was told he could be president who didn't want to be president. So naturally, a woman who's told she can be the first commandress in chief wants to be."

While we may not know if the former secretary of state and first lady will be running in 2016, there are already a plethora of Hillary for president products to stockpile in hopes that she does. Hey, it's a bit cart before the horse of us, but we can't help but dream, right? From tank tops to magnets, check out some of our favorite Hillary 2016 swag!
