We turned to the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, home of the original salad, to learn how to make the perfect rendition of this salad. Keep reading for step-by-step directions.

White jeans are our latest closet staple to be put to the 10-outfit challenge, and we discovered they are endlessly chic no matter what the occasion. With the rules of fashion changing on a minute-to-minute basis, we think white denim can serve as your blank canvas all year-round (forget the no-white-jeans-after-Labor Day rule). But whether we reach for bow-bedecked heels, candy-colored leather jackets, or a diaphanous blouse, the best accessory was surely an adorable blue bike — by Adeline Adeline, of course. Watch now to see Sveta ride around Chelsea, showing off our favorite 10 white denim looks.

Yesterday was a solemn day of remembrance for the nation and New Yorkers as it was the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, PA. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama were joined by former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and mourning family members during the city's ceremonies honoring the 2,753 people who lost their lives as a result of the attacks. See how the city remembered and grieved the day now.

The building's design is inspired by the Piccadilly, London, estate of the Duke of Devonshire, named Devonshire House. While the Devonshire family crest and other period English details embellish the façade and lobby, Roth also brought the vibrant social and artistic life of Greenwich Village to the design with Italianate motifs.

Get the Look: Diego and Laura Garcia's Luxe Upper East Side Pad

About five years ago or so, I met Diego Garcia, the lead singer of the band Elefant, at some shows in New Orleans.

About five years ago or so, I met Diego Garcia, the lead singer of the band Elefant, at some shows in New Orleans. In full rock star style, he was taking tequila shots in his tour bus with an array of pretty young things and walking barefoot in front of the Decatur Street House of Blues; I got the feeling that he couldn't put up this act for much longer. It turns out that the band called it quits it last year, and now Garcia devotes his musical talents to an eponymous solo act — his new album is due out April 5.

Further proof that the musician has settled down is a new Vogue.com tour of Garcia's luxurious Upper East Side Manhattan apartment, which he shares with his bombshell Brazilian fashion designer wife Laura, their adorable baby girl Georgiana, and their French bulldog Alaïa. Instead of collecting bar stamps, it seems the singer has picked up a passion for curating a personal art collection. His home's interiors are impeccably outfitted with Milo Baughman chairs, Karl Springer poufs, a Hope Atherton painting, a Donald Baechler piece, and miles of art books. It's restrained, eclectic, worldly, and absolutely envy inducing.

Since it's so grandly minimal, recreating the look of the cool couple's living room might require a second mortgage, but it can't hurt to try. Click to learn how to get the look!

House Tour: Industrial Designer Joe Doucet's NYC Apartment

I'm excited to present a post from one of my favorite sites, Shelterpop!

I'm excited to present a post from one of my favorite sites, Shelterpop!

Form follows function in designer Joe Doucet's bright and modern New York apartment.

Industrial designer Joe Doucet spends his days re-imagining everyday objects. So you might be surprised to see that when it comes to the Greenwich Village apartment he shares with his wife and son, less is more.

Doucet says he's not trying to make statements with his home, instead he wants a calm, livable space with few distractions.

"We want a space that works for us, not a space we work for," says Doucet. "A six-year-old son and the countless lightsaber battles that come with him will teach you that living in a museum is no fun at all. If it can be broken and cause you misery, lock it away somewhere."
Doucet is a huge bibliophile. "A home without books has no soul," he says, adding that aside from family, books are the one thing he couldn't live without. In the living room, Doucet color-coded the books on his floating shelves to make them look more organized. The lamp and white chair in the living room are two of Doucet's designs, though he says he prefers not to live with too much of his work. "I tend to obsess over every detail and my life is more sane without being constantly immersed in my work," he says, although he will test out prototypes at home. Keep reading to continue the tour!

Before and After: Big City, Small Apartment

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member aah123 from the Su Casa group:

I recently relocated to New York from Los Angeles and in the process, lost half my living space. With only approximately 450 square feet to work with, I decided to get creative and go with a non-traditional layout. My bedroom is set up where the living room is normally situated, and my cozy living room is typically used by most tenants in my building as a bedroom. I love the new layout! As an added bonus to having the bed located where it is, I can now close the french pocket doors and get a solid night's sleep! No more city noise waking me up in the middle of the night or way too early in the morning!

Here are my resources:

  • Headboard: Pottery Barn
  • Couch: Crate & Barrel
  • Square glass coffee tables: CB2
  • Lucite table/desk and stool: CB2

Vena Cava's Designer Duo Dish on NYC Spring Essentials, Brooklyn Street Finds, and More

Without hesitation, Vena Cava is on my shortlist of must-wear brands, and the designer duo and BFFs Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock are two of the coolest PopSugar City girls I know.

Without hesitation, Vena Cava is on my shortlist of must-wear brands, and the designer duo and BFFs Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock are two of the coolest PopSugar City girls I know. The ladies haven't taken a break since debuting their 2011 Fall collection in February. Currently, Buhai and Mayock are in Vietnam, rounding up inspiration for Spring 2012 (talk about springing forward). They just launched their awesome new ecommerce site, and even a world away, they still managed to give us the inside scoop on what every New York girl should have in her Spring wardrobe, where they find inspiration in the city, the best street "treasures" they've come across, and more.

PopSugar NYC: As a fellow West Coast defector, I'm curious, what was it about NYC in the initial stages that made you stay indefinitely?

Sophie Buhai: We both attended Parsons, so school is what brought us out to NYC. New York is really the place to be if you want to start a small fashion line; the industry is very supportive, and you have access to amazing production and all the editors. We felt very connected to an emerging group of designers who were all starting brands around the same time. The early 2000s were when the word "young designer" was exploding, and the economy was ripe for new talent. We were lucky to be in New York during that time, I don't think that could have happened if we had been in LA. We hope to make it out to LA at some point . . . perhaps when we launch our caftan line!

To find out what else the ladies have to say, head over to PopSugar NYC to read the whole interview.
